The UK furniture retailer may have the perfect low-effort solution for keeping homes warm during the colder months. It’s garnered an impressive 4.7 star approval rating
As temperatures plummet, many Brits will be looking for ways to keep their homes toasty this winter. If you’re one of them, look no further – Dunelm is offering what might be the perfect low-effort solution.
Retailing at £79 is a powerful ‘log fire stove’ that will undoubtedly transform any chilly living area into an inviting cosy space. But take a closer look and you’ll notice there aren’t actually logs within it at all, as sellers insist it’s ‘designed to keep you warm without the hassle of a real log fire’.
“The realistic flame design can be enjoyed as a cosy visual effect even when you don’t need warming up – perfect for entertaining with friends and family,” Dunelm says. “Crafted with a black cast effect finish to complete the modern look in your home. The compact design makes this a fantastic addition to a smaller space.”
Crucially, the ‘fake’ log stove has two heat settings – 1000W and 2000W – as well as an auto-stop function. As a result, the device will switch off at a certain point to prevent overheating, giving users ‘peace of mind’ when staying warm at home.
It’s garnered an impressive 4.7 star approval rating from the public too, with many shoppers chiming in on Dunelm’s website to share their praise of the log burner. One wrote: “Exactly what I was looking for, heats our conservatory quickly,” as another added: “Very realistic flames.”
Meanwhile, one even insisted: “I love my log fire especially for the price too. Definitely worth the money.” However, one reviewer on the Dunelm website said: “Not the quietest, much lighter alloy construction than expected. But decent for the value end of the market.”
If you’re not so keen on the log burner, there are plenty more ways to keep your home warm this coming winter. The furniture retailer is also offering a £17 electric blanket that’s especially perfect for anyone whose unable to bag a free one from Octopus and OVO Energy this winter. The sheet boasts a 35W output and a three-heat setting remote. Therefore, users have the option to select whatever temperature works best for a good night’s sleep.
On the flipside, B&Q praises its ‘Diall Radiator reflector’ foil can slash home heat loss by ‘up to 50%’, which may allow you to knock back your energy use in the long-run. Priced at just £14.97, the aluminium, reflective sheet may be cut in size to fit on and behind your radiator.
It’s designed to reflect warmth back towards the centre of a room, while avoiding heat loss through poorly insulated walls. Screwfix also has a 195mm x 500mm roll of insulating foil available for just £9.99, while The Range has a variation available for £23.99.
