Direct Line said the new products allowed customers to manage their policy digitally, but a telephone service remained for claims.

Direct Line has unveiled three new motor insurance products on the comparison website, Compare the Market.

The company plans to extend their availability across other price comparison websites in 2025. This move comes after the group’s announcement in July about its intention to feature on price comparison websites for the first time in its history, despite previously informing consumers it was not on such platforms.

It had stated that 90% of consumers visit these websites when deciding on insurance. Direct Line confirmed on Friday that these new offerings allow customers to manage their policies digitally, while maintaining a telephone service for claims.

The company will continue to sell products directly to consumers. Adam Winslow, chief executive at Direct Line Group, described the move as “exciting”, adding: “We are delivering a key pillar of our corporate strategy, demonstrating how we can move at pace to meet the changing needs of our customers.”
