A schoolgirl who lured a 15-year-old boy to a country park where he was stabbed 11 times and hit in the head with a rock in a vicious murder bid has been locked up.
The girl, who was 15 and cannot be named, sent the victim a text urging “please baby” after suggesting they should meet at Herrington Country Park in Sunderland last June.
Newcastle Crown Court heard that, when the victim turned up, he was confronted by two older, male teens, with a large knife, who emerged from the bushes after lying in wait to attack him, while the girl watched.
Messages exchanged by the attackers in the days before included “I’m defo stabbing him”, “he’s f****** dead” and the destination described as an “even better location for a killing”, after an earlier meeting failed when the victim did not show up.
After the horror attack, where one of them repeatedly stabbed him before the other hit his head with a rock, the victim managed to stagger through the park until he saw a cyclist who called for help.

He suffered stab wounds across his body, needed surgery and a skin graft, is undergoing physio and will be scarred for life. In an impact statement, which the boy bravely read out in court himself, he said his injuries have stopped him doing many of the things he previously enjoyed, including football.
He added: “I’m not able to cook anymore because I’m scared of knives, I’m not able to look at knives, I’m not able to touch them or use them. It reminds me of seeing the large knife in his hand before he used it to stab me 11 times.”
The victim said his sleep has also been affected by bad dreams and added: “It’s the same nightmare of those three standing in front of me with a knife about to stab me, exactly how it happened in real life.”
His mum, who also read her statement at the hearing, said she “immediately thought he would die” when she found out her boy had been stabbed.
She arrived at the scene when paramedics were still working on him and so was not allowed in the ambulance to see him. The mum described it as “every parent’s worst nightmare” and added: “The world felt evil.”
At an earlier hearing, the teen girl admitted attempted murder and the two teenage boys pleaded guilty to wounding with intent.
Judge Adams said the teen girl, who was otherwise “bright with ability and potential”, has been assessed as posing a “significant risk of serious harm” and sentenced her to seven years and four months detention.
The judge said the custodial sentence would provide “protection for the public from you” and told her: “You set up the meeting, you lured him to the scene, lured him to a meeting place where he could be killed, that was your intention at the time.”
The court heard the girl is undergoing mental health assessments and has been doing well with education while on remand. Both of the male defendants were cleared of attempted murder.
One, who has also been assessed as “dangerous”, was sentenced to two years and ten months detention. The other was sentenced to a detention and training order for 24 months.
None of them have previous convictions and all have co-operated with the authorities since. Judge Robert Adams said the park meeting had been a ploy to “sort out their differences” after the girl had had a falling out with the victim.
On the day of the attack she sent a text about the meeting, which he did not reply to, so she followed up with “please baby”. When he said he was on his way to meet, the girl messaged again to make sure he was alone.
Judge Adams said: “By earlier arrangement (the two male defendants) were with her, ready to attack him.” The judge said the victim saw the girl when he arrived at the meeting place and added: “As he approached her the two males appeared from the cover of nearby trees, where they had been hiding. Both of them had been hiding and lying in wait.
“The victim could see a knife which was used to stab him, put him to the ground and them stabbed repeatedly. At one point the attack briefly stopped, one of the males asked, ‘should I kill him?’, no-one answered except the victim who said ‘please don’t kill me’ then the attack resumed, he was stabbed a further three or four times.”
