Antonia Sullivan, 20, and Bradly Smith, 22, both from Rhondda Cynon Taf, in Wales, pleaded guilty to outraging public decency by committing a sexual act in a public place
A randy couple who performed a sex act moments after a packed easyJet flight took off have been pictured outside court.
Antonia Sullivan, 20, and Bradly Smith, 22, both from Rhondda Cynon Taf, in Wales, carried out the sex act on the flight from Tenerife, Spain to Bristol on March 3. Sullivan was seen putting coats over Smith’s lap just minutes after take-off before other passengers saw “vigorous hand movements.”
The pair, sat in 16A and 16B, were seen by a fellow passenger in 16C as well as two others including a teenage girl who was sat behind them next to her mum. The girl told her mum “I can see his bits,” but Sullivan claimed she was just rubbing her boyfriend’s leg.
After landing in Bristol, they were reported to the crew and later questioned by police after they landed in Bristol. Both Sullivan and Smith pleaded guilty to a count of outraging public decency by committing a sexual act in a public place at Bristol Magistrates this week.
The pair were spotted walking along a road together, with Smith speaking to someone on the phone. At one point Smith appeared to notice he was being photographed and grabbed his groin while looking at the cameraman.
“After a few minutes the witness was aware that the couple had re-arranged some coats over Smith’s lap and there followed vigorous hand movements beneath the coat,” prosecutor Maree Doyle said, according to The Sun. “The witness sitting next to them could see what was happening while a mother and teenage daughter sitting behind the couple could also see what was going on.”
Judge Lynn Matthews told the pair: “You had no regard for the feelings of other passengers. There was a child sitting behind you who was able to see what was happening. Who do you think you are and what right do you think entitled you to behave in that way in full view of people on that flight?”
Smith was ordered to complete 300 hours of community work and Sullivan was ordered to do 270 hours. An easyJet spokesperson told The Sun: “We can confirm that this flight to Bristol was met by police on arrival, due to the behaviour of two passengers onboard.”
