Claudia’s The Traitors outfits have proven incredibly popular with viewers of the BBC series this year – here’s what we know about them
From her Holland Cooper coat to her Hunter wellingtons – Claudia Winkleman’s wardrobe choices for the second series of BBC’s The Traitors have been as much of a hot topic as who’s voted out at the round table.
The 51-year-old presenter’s country-chic style has been one of luxury, with The Mirror reporting that for the first two episodes, her outfits amounted to an eye-watering £4,476 – with three episodes worth of wardrobe items coming in at £8,000.
But one of her most recent statement pieces is much more affordable, and shoppers say it gives ‘any luxury designer brand a run for its money’.
Last week, Claudia stepped out in a camel-coloured blazer which we believe to be this wool blend longline double breasted blazer from John Lewis – but if it’s not, then it’s incredibly similar. Though yet to be officially confirmed, we’ve taken a look at the lapels, button position, pockets and cuffs and all seem to be exactly the same.
Coming in at £125, it’s very much an investment piece, but no doubt a capsule wardrobe staple you can wear for decades.
It’s racked up more than four stars out of five from shoppers, with one commenting: “Great quality blazer that’s very fashionable as well with a great fit. Excellent value for money. I love the colour, it’s warm and luxurious looking. Would give any luxury designer brand a run for its money.”
Another added: “I’ve been looking for a blazer like this for years. It’s 45% wool whereas most in the shops are 100% poly. It is very professionally finished inside. It is very oversized. I sized down and it is still a very generous fit but I wanted to wear jumpers underneath. Also it is long, even on my 5’8″ frame. So if you are petite it will drown you. I am very pleased with it.”
The mum-of-three has absolutely nailed the Stately home-ready style that compliments the regal Scottish castle grounds where the show is filmed, with another incredibly popular piece being her red balloon sleeve jumper – however, this one will set you back a bit more. The knit, from Mr Mittens, costs €465 and is completely sold out.
While we’ve struggled to find anything with sleeves quite so voluminous, red as a whole remains a major trend this January, with this cherry red knit from River Island now £22 in the sale, down from £45, while this Cable Knit Crew Neck Jumper from Nobody’s Child via M&S is £65.
Claudia has also been spotted in a houndstooth blazer from The Kooples on season two of the show, and if you fancied blending this cut with the tartan pattern, ASOS also have a green and navy tartan blazer slashed to £13 in the January sale which could give a bit of a Traitor’s vibe. While her exact The Kooples jacket is now out of stock, there’s a slightly lighter version available on the website for £276 in the sale. You can see how quickly the price of these outfits rack up, can’t you?
Other pieces Claudia has worn this season include a £345 Cashmere Fair Isle Jumper from Brora, reduced from £475, as well as a Cotswold Boiled Black Wool Poncho for £690.
However, her suspected John Lewis blazer is one of the most affordable pieces she’s worn on the show – and it’s still in stock (for now). Shop the wool blend blazer for £125 here.
