Police investigating the deadly tree crash in Essex have issued a major update about one of the victims who was hospitalised on the weekend.
Emergency services raced to Chalkwell Park, Southend-on-Sea on Saturday, following reports that a ‘massive’ tree had partially collapsed. Several kids were trapped under the branches, with shocked locals running over to help them.
A schoolgirl, aged 7, was sadly pronounced dead in hospital following the freak accident. Essex Police confirmed that a six-year-old girl who was also taken to hospital was in critical condition.
Three other children suffered minor injuries after the accident.
