How the fire in Caernarfon unfolded
Reports of a fire in the centre of Caernarfon emerged at around 8pm this evening. Harri Jones shared a video from inside the Tafarn Y Porth Wetherspoons showing flames ripping through an abandoned unit opposite the pub.
It is understood it is a former cafe site that has been empty for many years.
Pubgoers watched in shock as the blaze took hold. There were also concerns about people living in flats above the unit and also nearby properties.
Firefighters and police responsed. Police cordoned off the areas and crews tackled the blaze.
They were able to quickly get the fire under control. It looks like nearby proerties were relatively unscatched, North Wales Live reports.
