Passengers have been left stranded in long airport queues and unable to access their bookings after British Airways’ website and app suddenly crashed

British Airways’ website and app have suddenly crashed, leaving passengers stranded in long airport queues and unable to access their bookings.

Departure gates have erupted in chaos after the system error forced passengers who were yet to check in to queue for their boarding passes, with one traveller set to miss their connecting flight after a delayed take-off.

Other disgruntled passengers have taken to X to slam the airline, with one writing to them: “Your app and website are absolutely hopeless. And not just today. Glad to get that off my chest!” Another disappointed customer asked: “What’s wrong with the website??? Cannot log on to my account on any device!!”

The airlines’ website released an error message alerting travellers that it was unable to cope with high demand. “We are experiencing high demand on ba.com at the moment,” it read. “Thank you for your patience.”

A message has also appeared on the app apologising for errors. It reads: “We’re sorry, something went wrong. Please try again or contact us if the problem continues.”
