The Met Office has warned of heavy rain leading to travel disruption and flooding – which could cause damage to buildings, power cuts and ‘danger to life’

An 18-hour long amber weather warning has been issued across a large chunk of the UK, with Brits in the firing line warned that deep floodwater could cause “danger to life.”

The warning for travel disruption and flooding runs from 3am to 9pm on Monday with six areas of South Wales put on alert. These are Bridgend, Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Rhondda Cynon Taf, and Swansea.
