Nottinghamshire Police have shared details of the “tragic and devastating” incident, which happened tonight in the Sherwood area of Nottingham and sadly saw a child die
An eight-year-old boy has died after falling from a window in a house, police said.
Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to Costock Avenue in Sherwood, Nottingham, by East Midlands Ambulance Service at around 7.15pm on Wednesday.
The boy was taken to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham but could not be saved. Officers remain at the address investigating the circumstances of the incident.
Chief Inspector Jon Scurr said: “This is a tragic and devastating loss of life and our thoughts are with the boy’s family and loved ones.”
