Boots has dropped a number of discounts on winter skincare this month to combat any beauty fan’s January blues

Cold weather can wreak havoc on our skin with icy air and freezing winds often leading to cracked lips, dry skin and sore scalps. Plus, it’s not just outside conditions that can affect our bodies during the winter – having the central heating on can cause skin issues such as flakiness and dehydration.

However, there are ways to combat the chill and keep skin looking and feeling plump, glowing and healthy. Boots is a one-stop shop for many, for all kinds of skin, body and hair care needs. The retailer stocks a variety of popular brands, allowing shoppers to get everything for a comprehensive winter skin overhaul, all in one place.

This January, Boots online has several discounts and offers to shop that can see shoppers saving a considerable amount. There’s half price on selected gifting and a third off selected top brands when purchasing three items, among more. From hair serums that help relieve a dry and itchy scalp, to moisturising face masks that hydrate complexions and pamper, these Boots deals are a great way to combat the January blues.

Face

No matter how many scarves and hoods we wrap ourselves up in, it’s a battle for many to combat a dry complexion during the winter season. Keeping the face hydrated is key, which is where the Garnier Hydration 8-Piece Set comes in. Now half price at Boots, it’s £37 down from £74, and contains everything to quench skin’s thirst.

Every product included is full-size, such as a Hyaluron Face Mask and Serum, Vitamin C Eye Cream and Micellar Hyaluronic Aloe Water. Even in the winter, shoppers should apply SPF so the addition of a Vitamin C Daily UV SPF50+ Invisible cream is worthy. One Garnier fan said the set is a ‘great way to get all my favourites’, especially as each item is now under £5 with the Boots deal.

A highly-rated No7 Skincare Collection is also on sale, racking up a score of 4.8 out of five by 261 people. On sale for £42.50 down from £85, it’s an excellent combination of moisturising and anti-ageing items. Inside consumers will find six full size products and three travel, such as a day cream, cleansing water and night serum.

Many Boots shoppers have called the set ‘excellent value for money’, but there is one person who said they don’t find use for every product. Beauty fans can also save at LookFantastic, where the ESPA Radiant Glow Collection, worth £150, is now £57 instead of £95.00. Packed with five products to help achieve naturally glowing skin, this set has been rated five stars by shoppers and is said to be “Great value.”

Body

January can feel a little glum at times, so what better way to be kind to ourselves than with a pampering pick-me-up? Saving shoppers £37, the Soap & Glory The Glam-Packed Showstopper Set is down to £25. It’s packed with eight products, and as it was £62, customers are now getting each item for around £3 rather than £8.

Each product is full size, so they’ll likely last the entire month and beyond, with everything from a hand cream, foot cream and body butter. There’s even the addition of a plumping lip gloss and a wash bag. All the items are scented, which may not be everyone’s preference, but for lovers of sweet fragrances, it’s a dream.

Shoppers have rated the set 4.5 out of five stars, with 680 reviews on the Boots website. One shopper said: “A pamper delight in a great bag for all ages anytime.”

Another added: “Good value for the money paid, lots of nice items to use.” However, some reviewers knocked off stars, saying, “I bought this as a couple of friends said they loved it, but I personally don’t feel it is as good as some other products I use on my skin, so it is an individual thing, if it suits you or not.”

Paring things back for those with sensitive skin, the Dove Pamper Tin Collection is on sale for £12.50, down from £25. There are two body washes, a beauty bar, hand cream and body lotion – all formulated to nourish the skin. Where a regular soap might leave skin feeling dry, this option claims to leave it soft and smooth.

Lips

There’s not much worse than sore, dry and cracked lips, as it can feel uncomfortable and make some feel self-conscious. The Clarins Lip Comfort Oil is a cult favourite for pampering pouts, and at Boots, shoppers can get four full-size bottles for £12.50 each. If shoppers were to buy one individually, it would set them back £27.

The Clarins Radiant Lips Collection, on sale for £49.99 reduced from £75, contains the flavours honey, raspberry, cherry and pitaya all homed in a beautiful wash bag. For extra conditioning care, the honey shade can be used as an overnight sleep mask on days when more TLC is needed.

Another lip oil that has earned high praise is the Gisou honey-infused lip oil. Retailing for £24 at LookFantastic, there are ten shades to choose ranging from strawberry sorbet to vanilla glaze.

Those wanting to spend less than £20 can find the Ole Henriksen Mini Pout Preserve Trio discounted from £25 to £16.44. The Boots deal is cheaper than the same set is at Cult Beauty.

Shoppers say each lip balm is “incredibly moisturising” and they “keep lips soft for hours without needing constant reapplication”. Some people were not keen because they felt “a little bit sticky”.

Scalp

When it comes to winter skincare, the scalp is often overlooked, but it can be an area that many people experience issues with during the cold months. When central heating is turned on and off, this can dry the scalp out, leading to dandruff and itching.

Boots is running a deal on Lee Stafford hair care, so shoppers can get a third off when purchasing three items. Part of the deal is the £10.99 Lee Stafford Powerfoods Dry Scalp Treatment – a serum formulated with carrot and kiwi extracts to nourish and soothe a dry scalp.

There are 76 other Lee Stafford products included in the offer, such as shampoo, conditioners and masks. Ranges include Coco Loco, Grow Strong & Long and Plump Up the Volume.

Alternatively, M&S stocks the Philip Kingsley Flaky/Itchy Scalp Regime Kit, which includes four products – two 20ml Flaky/Itchy Scalp Masks, a 75ml Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo and a 75ml Flaky/Itchy Scalp Toner for £35. Shoppers have rated the set 4.4 out of five stars with one saying: “This does just what it says.

“My scalp gets itchy when the heating goes on, and this relieves the itching straight away.” Although another said: “Lovely shampoo leaves the hair soft and shining, unfortunately, it has not helped the flaky and itchy scalp.”
