With many flocking to shop early Black Friday bargains, Boots customers are being forced to wait in a queue to access its website
Boots shoppers are being held in a queue just to get on the pharmacy chain’s website as its “biggest ever” Black Friday sale continues. Last month, prices were slashed across over 22,000 products online – and customers have been flocking to snap up the bargains.
Preparing for the Christmas season can be stressful, but Boots has made things easier for shoppers by launching its Black Friday sale weeks ahead of November 29, when the official shopping event is set to take place. It comes as no surprise, then, that the retailer’s website is struggling to cope with demand as several people rush to boots.com at once.
A message on the Boots website reads: “Our website is rather busy with Black Friday shoppers searching our very best savings, so you have temporarily been placed on a virtual queue.”

The retailer continued: “Don’t worry, our savings are practically at your fingertips. Just give us a few minutes & you will be back with our biggest-ever Black Friday!”
Boots announced its highly anticipated Black Friday sale on Wednesday, October 30 ahead of the Christmas shopping rush. As part of the event, the chain has reduced thousands of products and today (November 12), it launched its “biggest ever” £10 Tuesday sale.
Today only, shoppers can bag top-rated items from the likes of No7, Olay Liz Earle and Clinique for a tenner – down from their original prices. This includes the Olay Regenerist Whip Day Face Cream SPF30 that’s reduced to £10 from £38 – saving you a hefty £28.
The much-loved formula contains niacinamide, SPF 30 and peptides, and is formulated for dry, oily and normal skin types. One five-star reviewer said: “Nourishing and luxurious cream for everyday use, love the texture as it is absorbed.”
But someone else knocked off two stars, adding: “It feels heavy, which I like but is not that moisturising. It’s also too mattifying for my taste.”
One of our top picks from the Boots early Black Friday sale is this Yankee Candle Collection Gift Set – now £29.50 (was £60). This deal gets you a range of fragrances including Christmas Eve, Magical Bright Lights, Sparkling Cinnamon, Black Cherry, Bayside Cedar, Christmas Cookie, Holiday Cheer and White Spruce & Grapefruit.
Elsewhere, LookFantastic has launched a Black Friday Edit that’s filled with over £175 worth of products, costing £40. MAC Cosmetics is also offering a Black Friday beauty box for £60 – but it’s valued at £120.
