The body of a woman has been recovered from a pool in Sandwell Valley Country Park today, police have confirmed.
West Midlands Police say they are supporting the family of the woman at this tragic time. The force said ‘extensive efforts’ by all emergency services were carried out after the woman went missing in the water just after 4.30pm.
A police statement released tonight said: “Specialist teams from fire and rescue were deployed into the water, where they recovered the body.
“Sadly, nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed deceased at the scene. Our thoughts are with her family at this tragic time.
“Her death is not being treated as suspicious at this time and we will be liaising with the coroner.”
