A body has been found near a reservoir as search police for a missing man.

Mark Parry, who lived in Earl Shilton, near Hinckley, Leicestershire, hasn’t been seen since Wednesday (December 3) and the force put out a public appeal. But on Saturday evening Leicestershire Police said a body had been found earlier in the day at Thornton Reservoir, about eight miles from Earl Shilton.

A statement from the force read: “A body has been found in the search for missing Earl Shilton man Mark Parry. The 45-year-old was last seen on Wednesday 3 December afternoon at his home address in the Westfield Avenue area and was last in contact with a relative on Thursday morning.

“A body has been found today (Saturday) at Thornton Reservoir and although formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be Mark. His family are currently being supported by officers and have asked for privacy at this difficult time. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.”
