A body was found in a field in Renfrewshire, Scotland, with emergency services rushing to the site near to High Mathernock Farm this morning and now three men have been arrested
Three men have been arrested after a body was found in a field with police launching an investigation.
Emergency crews raced to a field near to High Mathernock Farm in Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire, today after receiving a report of a body being discovered at around 9.20am. Although the man has not formally been identified, the family of a 50-year-old man, who was reported missing from Greenock today, have been made aware.
Officers from Police Scotland are working to establish if the death is linked to a disturbance in Lansbury Street, Greenock, which was reported at around 2.45am this morning. And following that, police also locked down a street in the Gibshill area of Greenock today, with an emergency services response having been present since early this morning.
Forensic officers and a blue tent were spotted in the garden of a home in Lansbury Street while a cordon has also been in place on Gibshill Road where more officers have been seen appearing to gather evidence.
Police Scotland have issued a statement saying that three men, aged 51, 45 and 44, have been arrested in connection with assault and extensive enquiries are ongoing but no further details have been given over what has happened.
The force said: “Around 9.20am on Tuesday, 11 November, 2025, we were called to a report of a body found in a field near to High Mathernock Farm, Kilmacolm.
“The man has not formally been identified but the family of a, 50-year-old man, who was reported missing from Greenock on Tuesday, 11 November, 2025, have been made aware.
“Officers are also investigating a disturbance in Lansbury Street, Greenock that was reported around 2.45am on Tuesday, 11 November, 2025 and enquiries are ongoing to establish if this is linked. Three men, aged 51, 45 and 44, have been arrested in connection with assault and extensive enquiries are ongoing.”
