The cleaning products that look ‘expensive’ are inspired by the Middle East with ‘exotic’ scents
B&M has impressed shoppers with its latest line-up of cleaning products ‘from the Middle East’. Customers who have already tried the new ‘Duoud’ items – a hybrid of ‘Dubai’ and ‘oud’ – say bottles of the store’s new £1.29 fabric have transformed how good their home smells with “incredible” and “stunning” scents.
The new sought-after Duoud collection has landed in stores across the UK, offering a significant saving compared to other retailers. B&M claims the products hail from the United Arab Emirates, causing a frenzy among shoppers keen to try them out, since not many UK households will have them.
The Duoud cleaning collection includes a variety of products, from air fresheners to laundry detergents. Its ‘Eastern Promise’ laundry softener in oud and tobacco costs £2.99, as does the ‘Desert Rose’ version, which comes in oud and rose. The liquid laundry detergent variants are also on sale for £2.99, while a bag of 40 laundry detergent pods costs £4.99.
A box of 40 tumble dryer sheets costs £1.29, or get three for £3. Besides ‘Desert Rose’ and ‘Eastern Promise,’ there is a third fragrance option called ‘Arabian Night’, which is oud and musk. The Duoud fabric refresher and odour neutraliser costs £1.29 each, while the decorative bottles of air fresheners cost £1.99. There are also candles in each scent on sale for £1.99.
On Instagram, the Duoud Home Fragrance account wrote: “Something irresistible has arrived at B&M.” It added: “Discover the allure of Duoud Air Fresheners – where mystery meets luxury. In stores now.”
The viral products have been a hit across social media. Many people are already uploading videos about the new range even though it only came out a week ago.
The hype first started when lifestyle blogger Life With Little Ones took to Facebook last week to share pictures of the new cleaning products. They said: “I’m OBSESSED with the new Dubai Laundry Range in B&M. It smells amazing!”
It didn’t take long for hundreds of people to leave likes and comments. One person replied: “Put the dryer sheets on your radiator.” A second wrote: “Their air freshener is fab too. Some of them smell like men’s lovely aftershave great when you have dogs!” A third said: “Air freshener is gorgeous.” Another tagged a friend and said: “Might be the new best thing.”
Another lifestyle blogger, Libbiemayfitzpatrick, shared her thoughts on the new collection earlier this week on TikTok. She said: “Get down to B&M because they’ve just brought out some new cleaning products and they smell absolutely incredible. If you love the oud sort of fragrance, these are just for you.”
Holding up some of the products to the camera, she said, “This one smells incredible. And this was oud and rose. Oh, my god. It was a 10 out of 10. And the prices are really good as well, so make sure you go and check. They’ve also got washing tablets in oud.”
