Chocolate fans are excited to try a brand new flavour of Snickers bars that have been spotted in B&M stores across the UK – but the new flavour is not to everyone’s taste
Chocolate lovers are buzzing with excitement over a new variant of the much-loved Snickers bar that has been spotted on shelves at B&M stores across the UK. The classic version of the iconic chocolate bar features nougat layered with caramel and peanuts, all enrobed in rich milk chocolate.
Snickers was first launched in 1930 by Mars Inc, named after the Mars family’s beloved horse. Originally sold as ‘Marathon’ in the UK and Ireland, it was rebranded as Snickers in 1990. Over the decades, a whole host of flavours and limited edition versions of the trusty Snickers bar have been released, including a distinctive pecan variety.
Now, fans are over the moon as sharp-eyed shoppers have spotted a brand new version of the chocolate bar gracing the shelves of their local B&M store, and anticipation is running high.
Popular food-focused social media page New Foods UK shared a snapshot of the new coffee-flavoured Snickers bar, pictured holding three bars in hand. Rather than the traditional dark brown packaging featuring the iconic blue, white, and red logo, the new wrapper sports a lighter brown hue with a coffee mug alongside the logo to highlight the exciting new flavour.
“Coffee Snickers are back at B&M Stores,” read the post, which was shared across Instagram and Facebook.
The bar is an Australian adaptation of the classic, and is described as featuring a coffee-flavoured nougat alongside the traditional roasted peanuts, sweet caramel, and creamy milk chocolate.
Fans swiftly flocked to the comment section of the post to voice their opinions on the new flavour, with many desperate to get their hands on it, having previously gone wild for the new Snickers peanut ice creams that landed in Iceland supermarkets.
“Please tell me these aren’t an April’s fool! Anything chocolate and coffee is a big win for me!!” one person said. Fortunately, several users promptly reassured them that the bars were indeed the real deal.
Someone else remarked: “These are amazing if you like coffee, shame they’re not sold in other stores.
“These have been out since Christmas…. £1 a bar but they are delicious!! They also have cookie dough mars bars!” another person revealed.
However, not everybody appeared convinced it was a worthwhile idea, as one person commented: “Hmm not sure about that.”
This isn’t the only new sweet treat that B&M has to offer, as they’re also amongst three stockists of a brand new variety of Cadbury chocolate.
