People could spend £25 less and get something that looks very alike from the bargain store
B&M shoppers could persuade people into thinking they have splashed out on an expensive piece of homeware that has similar vibes to a pricey John Lewis decoration. In reality, it costs only a few pounds to pull off the illusion with this expensive-looking vase.
The Blown Glass Vase is available to see online for £5 in B&M. It is described as a “great way to enhance your decor” at home, and B&M bosses describe it as “a beautiful glass vase with a stylish flame-effect design. Add your favourite flowers to this vase or use it as a standalone decoration for your home.”
The style on the outside of the glass vase is common in lots of places like Home Bargains, The Range, Dunelm and more. It is also seen in some higher-end homeware, such as John Lewis. When doing a reverse image search on the B&M item, a similar-looking pattern appears on a John Lewis item selling for £30 online.
The Tall Confetti Glass Vase stands at 25cm tall and features a slightly different neck than the B&M version – but the pattern on the outside appears almost identical, with shades of orange, yellow and brown blended together. The John Lewis version would set shoppers back £30, but those on a budget may want something more affordable from B&M instead.
The bargain store’s website does not specify how tall or wide the £5 vase is. If shoppers want to see it, they would have to go into a local store and find it on one of the homeware store’s shelves.
There are more than 770 B&M stores in the UK as of early 2026 across many towns and cities. Shoppers can find their nearest using the online tool here, which needs a postcode to locate nearby branches.
This also provides shoppers with additional information, such as opening times and contact details. The B&M website does not give shoppers the opportunity to buy anything online.
The discount store has had lots of attention lately with its affordable homeware being compared to high-end options. One deal that fans spotted included a £6 B&M lamp that looked a lot like a sold-out item that is also from John Lewis
The retailer stocks a range of products that can enhance any space, and among their latest offering is the Mini Ribbed Lamp, which is available in a choice of four colours. On its website, B&M suggests the “practical and stylish” £6 lamp will “illuminate your space”.
The lamp bears a resemblance to a John Lewis model costing £160. The chain’s Country Rib Table Lamp is available in two shades: cream or myrtle green.
