Budget retailer B&M is selling an affordable bag for just £10 – a saving of £6 compared to a similar bag at Sainsbury’s
B&M shoppers are being encouraged to get their hands on a practical summer essential. It’s been described as “perfect for day trips”, whether you’re planning a picnic, heading to the beach or enjoying a leisurely afternoon in the park.
The item forms part of a new bank holiday range the retailer is showcasing throughout its 700-plus stores. It is designed to help families enjoy the sunnier weather without breaking the bank.
The Simply Summer Picnic Bag is priced at a highly affordable £10 – roughly what you’d pay for a couple of pints, depending on your location in the UK. It’s targeted at families and day-trippers looking for a straightforward solution to keep food and drinks organised while out and about.
Built with practicality in mind, the bag includes a spacious insulated main compartment to help maintain cooler temperatures for extended periods, making it suitable for everything from packed lunches to chilled beverages, the firm says. Its lightweight construction and carry handles make transporting the bag straightforward, according to B&M.

It’s only offered in a blue colourway, while the handles showcase a blend of green, pink, white and yellow shades. This lends it a vibrant, cheerful appearance that makes it a flexible travel companion suitable for all ages and genders, B&M says.
Meanwhile, it bears a striking resemblance to a near-identical bag currently available at Sainsbury’s. The Home Scandi Wiggle Picnic Cool Bag comes in a deeper shade of blue and is arguably slightly larger, but it carries a very similar feel, complete with matching multicoloured straps.
The most significant difference, however, is the price – with the Sainsbury’s version carrying a £16 price tag. That’s £6 more expensive.
