Here’s everything we know about last year’s event, what offers to expect, and the deals that are available to shop right now

November begins this weekend, so we’ve no doubt that fashion lovers are already looking ahead to one of the most anticipated shopping weekends of the year. Black Friday is less than four weeks away, with Christmas coming in less than two months, so the shopping season is in full swing as customers look to pick up gifts and outfits for the party invites ahead.

This year, Black Friday is on November 28. With discounts rolling out earlier each year, now’s the perfect time to look back at last year’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers, and anticipate what deals and discounts could be on the cards for 2025.

I’m no psychic, however, I have been writing about Black Friday deals for three years running, so have certainly learned a thing or two in my time. One trend I’ve noticed is that deals have been getting better year on year after the pandemic, which saw many retailers pull away from their usual Black Friday bonanzas for slightly more conservative offers.

And in 2025, we’re anticipating seeing deals launch earlier than ever to give customers longer to shop. I’ve revisited some of the 2024 deals from our favourite high-street and online brands, including New Look, River Island, Abbott Lyon and more. From fashion to jewellery and accessories, it’s likely we could see similar – or even better discounts – for 2025.

New Look

Last year, New Look went big with 40% off thousands of lines, spanning everything from winter coats to knitwear. There was also 50% off partywear and footwear. making getting a frock and heels for the work’s Christmas do a breeze, while coats were available from £30, many of them being half price or even better.

I’d love to see this Brown Houndstooth Check Pattern Cropped Puffer Jacket reduced. At £45.99, it’s already pretty affordable compared to similar styles at Damson Madder, but if this drops to £30, it’ll be a serious bargain.

The retailer isn’t among the earliest to launch, with the 2024 sale going live on November 19 – just nine days before Black Friday. We can expect to see their sale go live around a similar time, with markdowns of 40% off or more again this November.

For those who can’t wait, there’s currently up to 60% off thousands of styles, including this Khaki Scoop Neck Linen Look Midaxi Dress, down from £34.99 to £17. It’s available in all sizes from 8-22 and even comes in black and red. While summery in and of itself, paired with an oversized knit and some knee-high boots, it can double as a chic autumn outfit, too.

Hush

Hush offered 40% off selected products in its 2024 Black Friday event, focusing on cosy knits, loungewear and accessories. Their pieces are high quality and timeless, so are perfect for anyone building a capsule wardrobe or are looking for some elevated basics.

Personally, I’ve got my eye on these burgundy purple barrel leg joggers for £90, which I hope could be discounted for Black Friday. They have that incredibly on-trend silhouette that has dominated denim pieces this year, but with all of the comfort of a jogger, complete with an elastic waistband, which makes them perfect to wear during Christmas dinners.

Ahead of Black Friday, Hush is offering up to 50% off in their sale, but I’ve found one coat that’s even better than half price. The Utility Parka Jacket was £135 but is now £50, ideal for the unpredictable British weather. Shoppers have noted that it comes up on the larger side though, which is worth considering for those planning to purchase.

River Island

Back in 2023, River Island’s deal was a little different, with 25% off purchases over £75. The downside to this was that shoppers may have been inclined to spend more to take advantage of the offer, with those picking up smaller baskets missing out on the best deals.

This year, River Island has promised ‘deals that’ll make your mouth drop’, with discounts expected on a range of products like coats, jackets, dresses, knitwear, tops, shoes and boots.

For now, though, the brand has a few dozen sale items on site, mostly comprising of boots and bags. That said, this Cream Faux Fur Belted Mid Length Coat from Olivia Attwood’s recent edit is now on sale down from £89 to £69, though XL is out of stock.

Usually, those signed up to the River Island newsletter are rewarded for their loyalty with early access to the sale. Should these Brown Croc Print Knee High Heeled Boots (currently £66) be discounted, I’ll be sending a link straight to the group chat titled ‘Christmas gift ideas 2025’.

Abbott Lyon

I love that Abbott Lyon does a variety of Black Friday offers so that shoppers who may not be buying multiple items can still get a discount. The jewellery brand’s 2024 sale gave shoppers 35% off sitewide or a two-for-one offer on selected jewellery pieces. And jewellery lovers won’t have to wait either, as customers can currently get their cheapest of two items free with the code 2FOR1 in celebration of the brand’s 10th anniversary.

The brand’s mix-and-match promotions proved popular, especially on their collaboration with Stacey Solomon, so expect a return of bundle deals and generous savings across its bestselling accessories.

I’ve gifted Abbott Lyon a number of times and they’re always extremely well received. One year, I bought my sister-in-law a personalised necklace with her son’s name on it and I even had one order where I was able to get a free birthstone necklace thrown in at the checkout.

Urban Outfitters

Urban Outfitters went all in last year with 40% off the entire purchase, including homeware and gifting. This year, it’s likely to repeat the offer with the retailer promising deals on ‘most-wanted styles, vintage pieces, homeware and more’.

There’s set to be savings on a number of brands, too, such as Ed Hardy and Jaded London. Meanwhile, Cyber Monday will bring with it a sale on novelty Christmas presents and affordable gifts. If anyone has a Gen Z to buy for, or a Secret Santa on their list, UO could be a prime alternative to the likes of ASOS and H&M – especially for those with kitsch bag charms and unique decor on their list.

At the moment, Urban Outfitters is offering up to 40% off a range of clothing, home and gifts. One deal I spotted was this Stanley Quencher on offer for £34 down from £40.

Joanie Clothing

Joanie made a statement last Black Friday by offering 40% off everything. The sale began on Wednesday, November 20, and ended on Tuesday, December 3. Given its success, expect another site-wide discount this year, likely running from mid-November through Cyber Monday.

But shoppers don’t have to wait until the event to bag a bargain because the vintage-inspired retailer has up to 70% off in their outlet sale right now. They have more than 250 pieces discounted, including blazers, boilersuits, dresses and more.

My favourite Zeena X Joanie Rebecca Wallpaper Floral Print Puff Sleeve Midi Dress is actually on sale from £75 down to £24 – that’s more than £50 off.

AllSaints

AllSaints offered a generous 30% off absolutely everything last year, including leather jackets, boots and statement dresses. The brand has confirmed it’ll once again be participating in Black Friday, and it’s safe to assume the brand will stick to its 30% site-wide formula again this year.

Currently, customers can get up to 50% off plus an extra 20% off in the retailer’s mid-season sale, though that’s set to end on November 3 in preparation for Black Friday.

One of our top sale picks so far is the Antonia V-Neck Merino Wool Cardigan – a wardrobe staple and investment knit made from 100% merino wool. Originally £219, it’s now reduced to £87.20.

Nobody’s Child

Nobody’s Child is one of the brands ensuring their deals get better year on year, treating customers to 25% off everything last year with a discount code. The offer was more impressive than the 20% off deal that dropped in 2023. The sale launched on November 15 last year, so we could see some early deals from the retailer again next month.

The celebrity-loved brand has an outlet section on their site which is home to hundreds of discounted pieces. One of the biggest reductions I could find was this Red Linen Puff Sleeve Tiana Midi Dress which has a whopping 90% off. Originally £150, it’s now down to just £15.

But if I’m building a wish list of what could be reduced from the new in section, it would be this £75 Green & Brown Check Mini Skort. It’s giving a little nod to the Traitors-esque traditional highland styles and bringing it bang on trend for the season.

Boden

Last year, Boden released its Black Friday deals for just 24 hours but the brand is treating shoppers even earlier this time around. The brand will kick off its pre-Black Friday sale a full seven days early on Friday, November 21.

In 2024, we saw discounts on a selection of premium coats, dresses, jumpers, and more. There was also a reduction on tops, blouses, trousers, and footwear that are appropriate for wearing to the office and on the weekend. So, based on previous Black Friday events, we’re expecting some pretty competitive deals this year.

If customers don’t want to wait until November to save on Boden pieces, not to worry. The retailer is currently offering 60% off more than 1,370 womenswear pieces. Plus, there’s now 25% off everything with the code JDNF. That takes these Ailsa Block Heel Slingbacks down from £139 to £41.70. Crafted from soft leather, the colourful checked shoes have an added toe cap detail for the perfect sign-off.

Roman

Roman kicked off a massive Black Friday sale with discounts of up to 50% on thousands of items last year. Offering an array of knitwear styles under £30, Roman’s Black Friday event started on Black Friday (November 29), with the brand also offering a promotional code granting an additional 10% off purchases.

By the sounds of things, Roman will be keeping the sale window short again this year. While there will no doubt be great discounts, it doesn’t give customers a lot of time to really consider their purchase, which could lead to some impulse buying.

Ahead of the sale event, Roman said: “The Roman Black Friday sale on Friday 28th November will be bigger than ever and will be packed with amazing discounts, exclusive offers and limited edition styles.”

In the meantime, customers can shop the current sale here and get an extra 10% off. All they need to do is enter the code: EXTRA when checking out.

Whether shoppers need wardrobe staples, premium outerwear, or a party-season refresh, Black Friday 2025 is shaping up to be another great year for bargains.
