There’s a lot you need to buy if you’re expecting a baby, but luckily you’ll already find lots of newborn essentials reduced in price in early Black Friday sales

I’m soon to become a mum for the first time, and I’m beginning to learn the hard way just how much stuff I’m going to need to buy before my little’s one arrival. OK, so they don’t need huge boxes full of toys or fancy nursery accessories in the early months, but there are some essentials that you can’t escape buying – car seat, buggy, something for them to sleep in, etc – and they all soon add up in cost.

If this is also you, fortunately you’re shopping at the right time though, as loads of early Black Friday sales have already starting, including on top baby brands and new mum must-haves. Here’s what I’ve got my eye on buying this Black Friday, and how much you could save…

Best maternity leggings for winter tried and tested including M&S and Spanx

Maxi-Cosi Pebble 360 Pro2 car seat

Now £207.99 from Maxi-Cosi (usual price £259.99)

At a recent John Lewis nursery advisory appointment, we were really impressed by the this Maxi-Cosi car seat for a number of reasons: its sliding and rotating motions for easily securing the baby in the car, it’s compatible with a lot of other makes of buggy, and it had the option to lie the baby flat while in the car.

Available in three colours, the Pebble 360 Pro2 usually costs £259.99 but is currently reduced by 20% down to £207.99 as part of the brand’s month of Black Friday sales.

iCandy Peach 7 Black Pushchair and Carrycot Complete Car Seat Bundle

Now £1,198 from iCandy (usual price £1,548)

Buying a pushchair is a big decision, and a personal one too, as there are lots of things to consider: what size wheels you need, how easy it folds down, how much space it takes up in the home or car boot, for example.

The iCandy Peach 7 has flown off the shelves since both Molly-Mae Hague and Michelle Keegan have been spotted with it, and I’m really impressed with it too: it pushes really smoothly, folds down easily and looks great.

There are a number of different bundles you can buy but the full works, including carrycot, car seat and accessories, is currently reduced from over £1,500 to under £1,200.

SnuzPod4 Bedside Crib Black Friday Bundle

£159 from Snuz (usual price £269)

It’s recommended that your baby sleeps in your room for its first six months, and the SnuzPod makes it easy to keep your baby comfy as well as monitoring and feeding them. The side zips down for easy feeding, and the bed itself can be lifted off and carried around the home.

I’ll probably instead go for the stationary SnuzPod Studio as it’s slightly smaller (and we don’t have a lot of space in our bedroom), but this bundle is the best value for money right now.

The Little Green Sheep Organic Moses Basket, Mattress & Foldable Stand

Now £135 from The Little Green Sheep (usual price £155)

If you don’t want to constantly carry your baby’s bed up and down stairs, having a Moses basket-type bed downstairs can be a lifesaver. I’ve already got one of these chic baskets on a stand by our sofa and love how it looks (and there are loads of different colours) – plus the basket liner is machine washable and the basket itself is made from natural palm leaf.

Elvie Pump

From £201.75 from Mamas & Papas (usual price £269)

When asking friends about breast pumps, Elvie was the brand that was recommended to me most often. Available as a single or a double pump, they called it one of the smallest and quietest electric breast pumps they’d tried, and has two pumping modes available and seven intensity settings, and can be controlled from your phone.

Sweet Dreamers Ewan the Sheep

Now £32.99 from Amazon (usual price £40)

Another recommendation from a mum, and the UK’s bestselling baby sleep aid, this iconic little character features womb and heartbeat sounds plus a calming pink night light to help your little one drift off to sleep.

There’s now also a Deluxe model for £44.99, but the original is currently reduced by 18% on Amazon.
