Celeb-founded cosmetic brands can be seriously hit and miss, but one a-lister who continues to deliver time and again – whether it’s a best-selling fragrance or coveted lip kit – is Kylie Jenner. Now, the youngest of the Jenner-Kardashian clan has released the ultimate ‘hack to satin skin’ with her Natural Blur Powder Foundation .

The new product promises a ‘naturally blurred matte finish that lasts up to 12 hours’, delivering the perfect satin skin look. It’s a talc-free, breathable formula provides medium buildable coverage while smoothing the appearance of pores, fine lines and skin texture.

Coming in at £29 , it works to reduce excess oil and control shine for a light matte finish, while being ‘sweat and humidity-proof’. Formulated with bamboo powder and aloe barbadensis leaf extract, it’s hydrating and reports to be non-comedogenic, meaning it won’t clog pores, nor will it give flashback in photos – which is a major factor when choosing the right foundation.

“I’m so excited to launch our first powder foundation, ” said Kylie Jenner. “With every launch, I want to introduce formulas that are high-performing with clean, good-for-skin ingredients. Our Natural Blur Powder Foundation gives an airy, blurred matte finish, and is super comfortable to wear and allows skin to breath.”

The 26-year-old has created the product with versatility in mind, meaning it can be used as a foundation, finishing powder, or as a touch-up, too. However, since it’s so new, there are currently no reviews on stockists websites like Kylie Cosmetics, LookFantastic or Harrods – which is where we come in.

Three of our beauty writers have tried out the Natural Blur Powder Foundation to see if it will deliver on its claims. Phoebe, Bethan and Jada all tested out the latest formula – but will it be a permanent fixture in their makeup bags?

Bethan’s thoughts

As someone with dry skin who prefers a dewy makeup look, powder foundation has never been my go-to. However, I decided to try this product as a finishing powder rather than a standalone foundation. Initially, I was hesitant – the texture felt dry and its pigmentation made my skin look chalky. The sponge that came inside the compact felt a little bit old school – we’ve come a long way since this type of applicator – and I worried the product might cling to my dry patches.

To say I had my reservations was an understatement, however, I was soon eating my words, because after some buffing with a fluffy brush, I was pleasantly surprised by the transformation.

The powder actually blurred my skin in seconds and left it looking smooth and almost airbrushed , reducing shine and texture in my T-zone and brightening my overall complexion. It blurred the appearance of pores and texture, setting my makeup in place while maintaining a natural finish. I probably could have done with a better colour match, as I did need to go back in with some bronzer afterwards to warm my complexion back up, but overall, I was actually really pleased with the results.

The compact itself is super sleek, coming with an in-built mirror ideal for on-the-go touch ups, which the sponge is pretty good for if you don’t want to carry a brush. But I do recommend experimenting with application techniques to achieve the best results.

If you’re someone who enjoys a matte finish and needs a versatile product for setting, touching up, or even full coverage, this is a product well worth exploring. However, for those with dry skin like mine, my top tips would be to apply with a brush and ensure you do proper skin prep with a good moisturiser to achieve that flawless, airbrushed look.

Phoebe’s thoughts

I have never ordered a foundation online before, as I usually like to go into a store and check out a sample first to pick the perfect shade and ensure it’s the right formula for me. As this was the first time I’ve selected a foundation just by looking at the colours online, I was a little apprehensive and expected the shade to be wrong, however I needn’t have worried – the Natural Blur Powder Foundation in the shade 2C is a perfect colour match.

I usually opt for a liquid foundation that offers full coverage, as I occasionally suffer from breakouts and have dark circles under my eyes due to having quite pale skin. I didn’t have high hopes for this powder foundation, but I am delighted to say I was proved wrong.

After moisturising, I applied the foundation to my skin using the included sponge applicator in sweeping and dabbing motions. Initially the product looked slightly chalky, however after working it into my skin I was really impressed by how much it smoothed and blurred my complexion, covering up pores, spots and getting rid of the slight shine on my forehead and tip of the nose.

The foundation gave my face a lovely air brushed matte finish and I am genuinely surprised at how good the coverage is considering it’s a lightweight powder formula. It felt super comfy on my skin and truly felt like I had no makeup on.

The only downside is, while the foundation made the few spots I had and my dark circles a lot less obvious, it didn’t completely cover them. This means I will need to apply concealer underneath the powder foundation when I require full coverage, although this isn’t an issue as I have to use concealer with all of my other foundations too.

Kylie Cosmetic’s Natural Blur Powder Foundation has become my favourite everyday foundation when I want a natural look and only require a little bit of coverage. I also think it would be great to use as a setting powder on top of a liquid foundation if you want a long-lasting full coverage matte look.

Jada’s thoughts

After hearing how much Phoebe and Bethan had liked this foundation I had really high hopes, sadly they were not lived up to. Now in all fairness, it could be that the shade I got, 6WN, was a terrible match which is always a risk when buying foundation online. I do normally lean more towards liquid foundations which made me apprehensive when it came to a powder formula but I was excited to see it on.

As soon as I put it on though I had two thoughts: this is 2025’s answer to Dream Matte Mousse and I look like I’ve got a face full of bad fake tan. Now this could just be the result of a terrible shade match, which was a risk since I was stuck between two colours, but it really put a dampener on the experience. I do find sometimes makeup brands run a little more orange with deeper skin tones, which is why I find myself coming back again and again to Fenty which has a huge shade and undertone selection.

I found that you needed to use a lot of product to cover your face and I actually stopped just before my hairline as I knew it wasn’t going to make it to even my top three foundations (Fenty Pro Filt’r, Revolution Skin Silk Serum Foundation and Lancôme Teint Idôle for reference). I didn’t find it had a blurring effect and I felt brought more attention to texture on my face.

It does have a sleek compact with a mirror design and only needs a sponge for application, so if you find the shade for you this would be an easy option for on the go top ups. I do really like the packaging too – it just wasn’t a match for me. I honestly didn’t leave it on long enough to test how long it stays put and I found my skin was so dry afterwards that I put on a face mask straight away.
