Our head of beauty tries SkinCeutical’s new Advanced RGN-6 Rejuvenation Cream for 10 days to test the hype
How many times have you wished that a brand could just bottle the results of an in-clinic skin treatment to save you from having to spend thousands on techy facials? If your answer is ‘many’, we have good news for you- a new launch from SkinCeuticals might be the closest thing to a laser facial in a bottle yet.
The new Advanced RGN-6 Rejuvenation Cream promises to smooth, lift and even out skin tone in a similar way that a professional treatment (which costs up to £1,000 per session!) would, just without the heat or recovery time. It’s a clever new formula designed to regenerate and strengthen the skin barrier so your complexion looks fresher, firmer and more hydrated in just ten days.
The cream has already earned a celebrity fan in Olivia Attwood, who told her followers it’s “perfect if you love your in-clinic treatments as much as I do, but you still want your skin to feel calm, supported and glowing in-between.”
That’s exactly what this cream sets out to do: keep your skin strong and radiant between appointments, or replace them entirely if you prefer to work on your skin without any professional help.
So how does it work such magic with no laser in sight? Laser treatments tackle ageing and uneven skin tone by creating controlled micro-damage that stimulates collagen production and skin regeneration. The Advanced RGN-6 cream is inspired by this science, and mimics its effects with six ingredients.
14 best ‘Botox in a bottle’ wrinkle filling serums and creams starting from £3.79
SkinCeuticals Advanced RGN-6 Rejuvenation Cream formula:
- 10% glyco-repair to smooth texture and boost skin renewal
- 3% acetyl tetrapeptide-9 to support firmness and resilience
- 2% niacinamide to even tone and strengthen the barrier
- 1% eperuline to calm irritation and add instant comfort
- 0.2% bioceramide 603 to reduce discolouration and lock in moisture
- 0.2% ectoin to protect against stress and dehydration
To use it, apply one or two pumps to clean skin after your serum in the morning and evening. It’s especially effective after treatments like microneedling or laser, but just as good at reviving skin that’s dry, tired or dull from everyday life.
Head of beauty Zoe’s review
I used Advanced RGN-6 every morning for ten days, and the results were genuinely impressive. My dehydration lines looked softer, my skin felt stronger and my overall tone was more even. It has a creamy texture that melts in quickly and leaves a smooth, healthy finish that sits perfectly under make-up.
By the end of the first week, my skin had a calm, post-facial glow that usually only comes after a professional treatment. Now, would I go as far as to compare it to an in-clinic laser? As someone who has had a few sessions of laser resurfacing over the years, no, I wouldn’t. But I would say it’s the perfect treatment aftercare product, or even an entryway product to techier skincare.
At £160 it’s not a cheap buy by any means, but SkinCeuticals is always a brand I’m willing to pay out for. It’s never let me down before, and it hasn’t with this new launch.
