The De’Longhi Dedica Style Traditional Pump Espresso Machine is reduced in Amazon’s Spring Deal Days event, with £121 knocked off its price

Amazon’s Spring Sale is here with massive reductions across a range of categories from beauty, fashion and tech to homeware. One thing shoppers can get for less this Spring Deal Days (running from March 10-16) is a coffee machine, with some impressive models reduced by almost 50% – including the one I’ve used for years, as a former coffee shop barista (Starbucks and indie cafes).

The De’Longhi Dedica Style Traditional Pump Espresso Machine usually retails on Amazon for £255.99, but in the shopping giant’s sale, it’s been reduced by 47%, making it £134.90 – the lowest price I’ve seen currently. Available in a range of colours, including silver and black, the coffee machine is a great model for those who want to make the leap from instant coffee to a more cafe-style quality.

Levelling up kitchen equipment, this De’Longhi machine comes with a portafilter, in which the ground coffee goes (available at supermarkets and local coffee stops) and can make both single and double espressos, depending on the depth of the insert used.

Alongside delivering rich and flavourful espresso thanks to its 15-bar pressure, the machine is also equipped with a steam wand that can make silky smooth hot milk or frothy cappuccinos. With only three buttons on its top – single espresso, double espresso and steam – the machine is very easy to run and requires no previous barista experience.

With a two-tier cup holder (for different-sized mugs), removable water tank and manual descaling system, it’s also relatively simple to clean and doesn’t take up too much room on the worktops as it measures at 14.9D x 33W x 30.3H cm.

The De’Longhi Dedica Style Traditional Pump Espresso Machine is on sale at Amazon in its Spring Sale event.

If this still sounds a little too intense for a coffee, users can get an equally rich experience with pod machines, such as the L’OR Barista Sublime, which requires coffee capsules alone to produce a barista-quality cup of Joe. On sale from £109.99 to £79.99, the machine comes in a range of colours and is compatible with a whole host of coffee capsules brands.

For those who want something a little more industrial, a bean-to-cup model will do the trick, such as this Ninja Luxe Café Premier Espresso Machine. While it is more of an investment, this model is currently on sale for £479.99 from £549.99. Our very own Ruth has this gadget – read her review here.

Although for something without all the bells and whistles of such a device, the De’Longhi does a stellar job at crafting a delicious cup of coffee. It delivers quality crema and steamed milk that tastes delicious. I’m not the only one who loves this machine, as on Amazon, the De’Longhi Dedica Style device has a 4.2 star rating with users praising its ‘easy to use’ process and ‘lovely coffee’.

One person shared: “I love this coffee machine, it is so easy to use and heats up quickly. It makes lovely coffee, and the steam wand is impressive. There are two options to choose from: hot milk or cappuccino milk. I have tried several coffee machines now, this one definitely has the best steam wand and the wand is easier to keep clean as the hot milk doesn’t seem to stick to it so much. This machine also seems happy to make two or three consecutive coffees without any issues, which was a problem with our last machine.

“The slim design of this machine means it doesn’t take up much space, it also looks stylish. I would definitely recommend this Delonghi coffee machine, for ease of use and coffee quality, and also value for money.”

“It’s a beautiful and compact machine that looks lovely in my kitchen to replace a 5-year-old pod machine, which I felt was not environmentally friendly,” said another, who added: “I absolutely love, love, love this machine. It makes perfect coffee every time.”

A third remarked: “I have had the Dedica Style for a week now and I am very impressed. I have been using it to make espressos, cortados, cappuccinos and americanos. All have been excellent.”

Although they did note one slight drawback: “I would say that the instructions which come with the machine are pretty poor; you can probably get better instructions where the machine is listed on the Amazon website. I would also recommend looking at videos on YouTube that describe the milk frothing process – it will definitely help you use this machine to greater effect.”

Someone else, who loved the machine for its compact design, shared: “I love my coffee, and I have wanted an espresso machine with a portafilter for a long time. I had tried the pod machines and used refillable pods, grinding my own beans. But I just knew I could get better coffee, so I picked this up when the sale hit, and it looked more reasonable in price. I am so happy I did. It’s like night and day compared to it.

“Espresso is easy even for a novice. Just pop the filter into the handle, fill with ground coffee and tap down with the tamper. Then twist the handle in until it locks. There’s a power button on the side, and when the lights stop flashing, hit the 1 or 2 cup option. In 30 seconds you’ll have a tasty espresso. You can then hit the 1 or 2 cup option to add more hot water and make it a longer drink.”
