Illusive street artist Banksy has revealed a brand new piece of art situation on a wall outside Royal Courts of Justice – and it could be one of his most powerful yet

Street artist Banksy has revealed a brand new piece of artwork – and it has a pretty powerful meaning. The anonymous graffiti artist has been known to share messages in his work and his latest one was placed on wall of the Royal Courts of Justice show a judge attacking a protester with a gavel.

Banksy shared an image of the artwork to his social media account on September 8, but the artwork has already been covered up. It is now concealed by large sheets of black plastic and two metal barriers, and is currently being guarded.

It comes as protests for Palestine have taken place across London, with footage of people being arrested across the capital over the past few months.

More than 530 people were arrested at the last major protest against Palestine Action being banned, as police were seen carrying some protestors from Parliament Square into police vans on Saturday September 6.

Known to be a political activist, Banksy frequently uses his art to express issues, and at a moment when there are so many questions around protests and free speech, Banksy has used street art to send out a powerful message on such a complex global conflict.

Fans were quick to comment on his latest work, as one Instagram user simply wrote: “A picture says a thousand words,” while others simply called him a “genius” and “iconic”.

First becoming active in the 1990s, Banksy has become known for his satirical graffiti, distinctive stencilling, and dark humour, but his identity still remains a mystery.

According to Celebrity Net Worth , Banksy is worth around $50million – around £37.5 million. It is thought the artist makes his money from sales. His piece “Love is in the Bin” – a half-shredded painting of his Girl with Balloon mural – sold for £18,582,000 in 2021.

Banksy also works with printmakers to make limited edition prints of his work. A signed print can fetch around £35,000. In March, a signed print of Girl with Balloon was estimated to sell for around £256,500, reports Banksy Value. An unsigned print of Golf Sale would be the cheapest, thought to cost around £8,000.

Originally from Bristol in south west England, a number of Banksy’s pieces are still present around the city. There are a total of 12 Banksy pieces still around Bristol, including Mild Mild West, a mural showing a teddy bear throwing a Molotov cocktail at a squad of riot police.
