Several high street stores have announced upcoming closures
An increasing number of high street retailers have announced impending closures, placing hundreds of jobs in jeopardy nationwide. Among them is fashion brand Quiz, which entered administration on February 5, 2026, alongside a number of Morrisons Daily outlets.
This marks the second time Quiz has gone into administration within a year, having previously collapsed in February 2025 before being swiftly acquired by a subsidiary of the founding Ramzan family. This time around, however, the brand is expected to cease trading by July, with items currently priced below £10 in its closing-down sale.
Its website also confirms that “all remaining stock must be cleared” and “that due to the nature of the sale, all purchases are final.”
Quiz Clothing concessions, which operate from New Look and Matalan stores across the UK, are not part of this administration process and will continue trading as usual.

Morrisons has revealed that approximately 100 of its Morrisons Daily stores will be shutting. The supermarket said the outlets, which were originally acquired as part of a £190 million rescue package for McColl’s in 2022, had been under continuous review but had remained unprofitable for some considerable time despite attempts to improve trading.
The supermarket giant had already confirmed that seven stores in Yorkshire would be closing, and has now stated that at least one Berkshire branch will also feature among the 100 earmarked for closure.

A Lloyds spokesperson told MoneyWeek: “With access to one of the biggest branch networks in the UK, alongside local banking options like our Community Bankers, the Post Office, PayPoint, plus our leading apps and 24/7 messaging service, we offer our customers more choice and convenience than ever before.”
