Asda bosses say the move will ‘strengthen the breadth of services’ and help meet customers’ needs
Asda is launching a new service to help hundreds of customers across the UK supermarkets. It says the move will ‘make life easier’ for shoppers and help them do two jobs at once.
The firm has announced it will be helping shoppers “wash while they shop” after partnering with with ME Group International in a move that will see up to 700 Wash.ME self‑service laundry machines installed across Asda stores. Launching from May, the new laundry units will appear in Asda Supercentres, Superstores, supermarkets and Express sites, which it says will give customers a “quick, convenient and great‑value way to wash and dry clothes while they shop”.
The firm said every unit will offer large‑capacity 9kg and 20kg drums, energy‑efficient cycles and high‑speed drying, meaning everything from everyday laundry to larger household loads can be accommodated. The machines are available to use 24/7 at many locations, offering even greater flexibility to customers.

This large‑scale rollout of Wash.ME units gives customers a quick, convenient and great‑value way to tackle their laundry while they shop.”

ME Group operates more than 7,600 Wash.ME laundry machines in 12 countries, with more than 1,500 laundry machines located in the United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland. These machines give consumers access to self-service, large-capacity (9kg and 20kg drums), energy-efficient, high-speed washing and drying laundry services, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The new partnership with Asda supports the Group’s growth strategy, with ambitions to install more than 1,300 Wash.ME laundry machines in FY 2026 and a long-term target of installing 20,000+ machines globally.
