Even though it’s freezing outside, Asda shoppers are seriously excited to get their hands on these new Ben & Jerry’s ice creams. They’ll be suitable for fans of both fruit and chocolate

Asda is selling two new Ben & Jerry’s flavours and customers can’t contain their excitement.

The first draws inspiration from a British bakery classic – the jam doughnut! It’s called the Strawberry Doughnut-eee and looks absolutely delicious.

It is packed with strawberry and cream flavoured ice cream, doughnut-style chunks and a jammy strawberry swirl, so is bound to be a firm favourite for anyone with a sweet tooth.

The product description reads: “Satisfy your doughnut craving with an ice cream inspired by your favourite bakery treat. The un-dough-niably tasty chunks and strawberry-licious swirls will have you jamming out with every scoop.”

If you prefer chocolate to fruit, there’s no need to fret. That’s because the second flavour is inspired by churros.

Shoppers can pick up the Churrifically Churros-y ice cream, which is described as “irresistible, churro-licious cinnamony bliss”. It contains caramel ice cream, churros-style chunks, cinnamon sugar pieces and chocolate swirls.

The product description adds: “Dig into a celebration of sweet, churros-inspired satisfaction in every scoop.” Don’t mind if we do!

Ice cream fans seem to be super excited to try the new Ben & Jerry’s flavours – as products on the New Foods UK social media pages have garnered hundreds of likes.

One foodie gushed: “These actually look pretty good.” Another said: “Finally something that’s not just caramel or cookies / brownie pieces.” And a third wrote: “I need to try these!”

You can pick up the ice cream tubs at Asda or on Ocado for a £3.75 introductory price. However, some customers are gutted Ben & Jerry’s is launching new flavours instead of bringing some old favourites back.

One admitted: “I would sell a kidney for them to bring back birthday cake.” A second wrote: “Just want Cherry Garcia back, miss it so much.”

Meanwhile, a third said: “I just want Ben & Jerry’s to bring back Baked Alaska and realise not everyone likes chocolate in their ice cream.”
