Sky Mobile is dishing out a big upgrade to Apple’s thinnest-ever iPhone
Apple fans have been offered a significant upgrade to the brand’s thinnest-ever phone for £1. The rare deal just dropped at Sky Mobile, where shoppers can double the storage of Apple’s iPhone Air.
The ultra-thin sibling of the iPhone 17 comes with a base storage of 128GB on Sky Mobile’s £28 monthly plan. However, this can be boosted to 512GB for £29 – the equivalent of roughly 93p per day across a 31-day month.
There’s also the option to double the storage again to the largest 1TB for £31. Each phone comes with a £12 upfront cost to get the ball rolling, but they’re selling fast as only Space Black and Sky Blue models remain in stock.
A caveat is that Sky’s monthly plans come with a small 100MB data allowance, so heavier users should consider choosing a larger package. These range from 3GB for £5 to unlimited for £20.
Shoppers should also note that Sky’s contracts run for 36 months, with the option to upgrade after 24 months at no extra cost. Elsewhere, EE’s summer sale has seen a huge £866 price cut on the iPhone Air as well as double storage at no extra cost.

Sky Mobile is doubling Apple’s iPhone Air storage for £1, with the 512GB now £29 when spreading the cost.
The 512GB model has been reduced by £218.04, alongside an £18 monthly discount on EE’s 125GB Essentials plan. This contract now comes in at £48.26 (was £66.26), with £30 upfront.
Alternatively, buying the phone outright at Amazon is currently £200 cheaper, as the iPhone Air 256GB is reduced from £999 to £799. The iPhone Air marked one of the most significant changes to Apple’s smartphones in recent years when it launched in September.
It’s the tech giant’s thinnest model yet, measuring just 5.6mm thick and weighing 165g. Despite this, it’s toughened with a robust titanium frame while the 6.5″ Super Retina XDR display features Ceramic Shield on both sides for added protection.
It’s powered by Apple’s A19 Pro chip, meaning it runs smoothly and can multitask efficiently, with Apple Intelligence, iOS 26 and an advanced 48MP Fusion camera system among its other standout features. Technology Editor Dave Snelling got his hands on the iPhone Air when it was unveiled at Apple’s California headquarters and said ‘it has to be seen to be believed.’
“I’ve been using this device since it was unveiled and it has to be seen to be believed,” he said. “It’s so skinny and light you barely notice it in your pocket, and it has a striking design that’s guaranteed to have everyone talking.
“You might be worried about durability. Well, I’ve actually seen what the firm puts this device through in the lab and it’s gruelling to watch.
“Apple’s team applies huge amounts of pressure to the middle of the screen to see how the design will cope under extreme stress. Although it bends, the Air doesn’t crack and instantly returns to its normal shape.
“Along with its eye-catching appearance, the Air also features a stunning 6.5” ProMotion 120Hz display that looks pin-sharp and packed with colour. Under its tough shell is an A19 Pro processor, which will supply more grunt than you will ever need and is perfect for work and play on the move.
“That chip is also very efficient, and that’s great news for battery life.”
However, Dave also highlighted a ‘compromise’ of the iPhone Air, adding: “To maximise every inch of space inside the device, Apple’s design team has placed the processor, modem and other vital tech in a bar that runs across the top of the rear. It looks neat but does mean there’s only room for one camera.
“The cheaper iPhone 17 has two lenses and the Pro takes that up to three. It is a clever 48MP fusion snapper so you can zoom and snap wider-angle shots, plus it will take portrait images and shoot video in 4K.
“It’s decent enough but it simply can’t match the might of the iPhone 17 Pro’s triple camera system. If you simply take photos of your pets or kids playing in the park, you probably won’t be all that disappointed, but those who want the ultimate image experience are definitely better off switching to the Pro models.”
