Our tech shopping team have rounded up the early Amazon deals – from Apple gadgets to Beats, Shark and household staples

Amazon’s seasonal sale date is nearly here as it kicks off its Prime Day this week. The sale will see hundreds of brands discounted in price, including a wave of tech. As big-name brands like Apple, Samsung, Shark, and Beats drop in price.

Amid the flurry of discounts, our tech team has scoured through the early offers, picking out what we genuinely would recommend to our own family, friends or buy ourselves. Officially running from Tuesday, June 23, up until Friday, June 26.

Before we dig out our favourites, the first thing to do is sign up to be a Prime member, as this is the only way to get access to some of the lower prices. Amazon’s currently offering a 30-day free trial too, so there’s no obligation to pay the £8.99 a month for those who don’t want to.

Despite the sale starting in a few days time there are alreadt lots of early deals. For us tech fans the standouts include Apple, as Amazon has cut lots of devices. From the newest generation AirTags to the MacBook Neo and AirPods Max headphones. Some we’re eagerly awaiting, like Echo Dot discounts that are noticeably a lot slower than this time last year.

Another tip is stacking some of Amazon’s prices with the deals site TopCashback. Shoppers are paid a proportion of their money back when they buy through its links.

Jake – Samsung QLED Q7F 4K Vision AI Smart TV

Amazon has discounted a host of smart TVs from major brands, ideal for tuning into the World Cup, but it’s this Samsung QLED model from the brand’s 2025 range that caught my eye. It’s £110 off ahead of Prime Day, undercutting Samsung by £70, and boasts 4K resolution and an AI-powered upscaler to enhance non-4K content.

It’s powered by Quantum Dot technology, which boosts image brightness for clearer, vivid and true-to-life colours, which can really do justice to the incredible stadiums at this year’s World Cup. It also has Object Tracking Sound Lite, which follows the action on screen, so it’s perfectly suited to football.

It’s well-rated too, with Amazon shoppers awarding it 4.3-stars, praising its ‘sharp and colourful’ picture quality when watching sport. However, some have criticised the TV’s remote, which is said to make some basic functions ‘difficult to access’.

Henry – Apple Watch SE 3 44mm

It’s rare to see such a big discount on the latest-generation Apple Watch, but this offer makes the SE 3 even better value than it already is. With an always-on display and the same powerful S10 chip as the much pricier Series 11, this Apple Watch will serve all but the pickiest iPhone owner admirably.

This record-low price is for the larger 44mm version, which has a bigger battery than the 40mm, rated at up to 18 hours. Wearing it all day will track wearers’ heart rate, body temperature, steps, distance and more, while also receiving notifications. Built-in GPS also lets runners, walkers and cyclists track their routes without needing to take their iPhone with them.

Buyers will also be able to download a huge range of third-party apps, from Spotify to Strava, AllTrails, Starbucks and more, as well as use the Wallet app for contactless payments, loyalty cards and boarding passes. The Apple Watch SE 3’s 4.6-star rating on Amazon speaks for itself.

Harriet – PowerBeats Fit

I’m a fan of small earbuds, I much prefer them to often sweaty and bulky headphones. A pair I’ve been wearing for the last few months are the PowerBeats Fit. A quality pair with excellent sound quality and a noticeably lower price than its Apple AirPod cousins (yes, Apple now owns Beats).

I have the black pair, but the Spark Orange pair are on sale now, £159 instead of their usual £199.95. For anyone looking to spread the cost, then EE is an alternative option as they offer the pair at £16.56 per month, but locked into a contract.

Designed for working out, hence the name, these Beats are an excellent choice for those who lead an active lifestyle, and their revamped design outshines any AirPod Pro model. For running, weightlifting, yoga or pilates, these earbuds are a reliable option.

My only comment is the ‘design fits all claim’ as while they are a perfect fit for me, none of the ear tip sizes supplied in the box fit my fiancé. Something to bear in mind for anyone with bigger ears.

Nisha – Shark PowerPro Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner

In a pre-Prime Day deal, Amazon has slashed the price of this PowerPro Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner by £71.99. The cleaning device has a bendable stick, which makes it easier to get into all the nooks and crannies.

The multi-surface floorhead digs deep into carpets and directly engages hard floors, for continuous cleaning contact. Meanwhile, the FloorDetect technology senses floor types and automatically adjusts brush-roll speed for optimised performance.

Other standout features include anti-hair-wrap technology, which removes hair from the brush roll as you clean. The PowerPro Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner also has an anti-allergen complete seal that captures and traps dust and allergens. Alternatively, for a budget option, Argos has an offer on this Bush Bagged Vacuum, now £35, down from £50. This cylinder cleaner comes with a one-metre cord.

Over at Currys, this Samsung Suction Power Cordless is £80, and is now priced at £219, down from £299. It has a 2-in-1 charging station and a 40-minute run time. In the reviews for Amazon’s deal on the PowerPro Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner, one person said: “Amazing, needed a lightweight vacuum for the downstairs, has great run time. A lack of a bag is a plus, as it prevents extra dust from collecting and keeps the front from reflecting light, very handy for dark corners. Charge time is quick.”

Another user noted a downside, stating: “Brilliant vacuum, easy to clean, only downfall. It only comes with one battery.” Samsung’s TurboJet is an alternative shoppers could consider too, now available to buy at Currys. It picks up to 99.99% of microdust particles.

Dayna – Ring Battery Video Doorbell

In an early Prime Day deal, Amazon has slashed 50 per cent off the newest generation Ring Battery Video Doorbell. The discounted price is available for all three colours: Prime speckled grey, speckled white and matte mocha.

Homeowners can ‘see, hear and speak in real time’ with live view and the two-way talk features. I couldn’t live without mine now – and it is so handy when you’re out and about to speak to visitors, people delivering parcels or even just keeping an eye on your home from further afield.

The newest generation Ring Doorbell has Retinal 2k video, and you can zoom in up to six times to catch details at a distance or inspect faces. It also boasts night vision, even in the lowest lighting.

The Ring Battery Video Doorbell has a 3.9-star rating on Amazon – and more than 5,000 have been sold in the last month. One shopper said: “Excellent clarity of video – misses nothing. Very straightforward to set up. As a single female, it is making me feel very secure at home.”

However, another customer wrote: “I thought it would work better as a doorbell. Also, as I live on a fairly busy street, I get so many notifications about people at my door/ walking past, I turned them off. Which defeats the purpose of. Bit disappointing.”

Alternative options for shoppers who’d like to shop around include the Blink Video Doorbell Wired or Battery, now £49.99 at Argos, or the EUFY C31 2K Smart Video Doorbell, now £99.99 at Currys.
