Here’s everything you need to know about when your benefit payments will be made over the Easter bank holiday weekend

Easter, which falls on Sunday, April 20 this year, could affect some State Pension and benefit payments due on Good Friday or bank holiday Monday. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and Social Security Scotland have already confirmed that some payments due on these days will be made early. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is expected to follow a similar revised payment pattern.

This is due to the closure of DWP offices and phone lines over the bank holidays. Payments are typically made when all services, including webchat and Jobcentre Plus offices, are available.

Payments such as State Pension, Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Child Benefits, Adult Disability Payment (ADP) and Attendance Allowance due on Friday, April 18 or Monday, April 21 will arrive in bank accounts on Thursday, April 17.

It is crucial to note that if your upcoming payment does not fall on either of the bank holidays, it will be paid as usual, reports the Daily Record.

Below is a comprehensive list of DWP and HMRC s which could be affected by the Easter bank holiday weekend. If your benefit or payment is not listed, it will not be affected by the Easter bank holiday weekend.
