Nationwide customers will likely be relieved to hear that the building society has committed to keeping its UK branches open until at least the start of 2028. The financial institution extended its “Branch Promise” earlier this year, stating at the time: “The days may be getting colder, but you’ll always find a warm welcome at our branches – which are now staying put on the high street for even longer.”

‌

Emails sent to members in November went on to say: “One of the reasons we are named Which? Banking Brand of the Year 2025 is, unlike many banks, we are committed to keeping our branches open. And now, we are extending this promise and all 605 of our branches will remain open until at least the start of 2030, excluding circumstances beyond our control. It means you can keep benefiting from face-to-face banking at our branches across the UK.

‌

“So whether it’s on the high street, in our app or over the phone, you can choose how you would like to bank with us.”
