Aldi shoppers love the £2.99 Lacura Collagen Lip Oil that’s returning to stores this weekend
Aldi is bringing back a £2.99 lip oil that fans claim feels “exactly the same” as a £28 Charlotte Tilbury product. From Sunday (9 March), beauty fans can shop Lacura’s well-reviewed Collagen Lip Oil as a SpecialBuy.
The £2.99 beauty hero is formulated with shea butter, almond oil, vitamin E, and collagen. According to the product description, it helps lips to look “smoother, plumper and full of shine”, and it’s a clear favourite with beauty fans.
When shoppers first spotted the SpecialBuy in stores last year, many were quick to compare the lip product to Charlotte’s Magic Lip Oil Crystal Elixir, available for £28 from Charlotte Tilbury.
One such shopper, who shared a review on TikTok as @james_r_atkinson, compared the two products in a side-by-side shot before praising Aldi’s version. James claimed: “I’ve used the Charlotte Tilbury one since it launched, and the Aldi one feels exactly the same.”
In another video, TikTok user @becky_cxx also compared Aldi’s £2.99 lip oil to Charlotte Tilbury’s. The shopper thought, “It feels exactly the same as the Charlotte Tilbury one.”
It’s worth noting that there are differences between the lip oils, though both are popular with shoppers. Aldi’s lip oil is “formulated with a Super 5 crystal complex and Super 8 ingredients.”
Meanwhile, Charlotte Tilbury’s lip oil is “enriched with potent ingredients, a magical 5-crystal complex and [Charlotte Tilbury’s ] Magic 8 ingredients for lips that look full of life.” These ingredients include Alpine Rose and Hyaluronic Acid, which helps to hydrate skin.
In a big plus for Charlotte Tilbury shoppers, the lip oil is clinically proven to boost lip volume, visibly reduce the appearance of lip lines and boost hydration. Nonetheless, Aldi’s product could still be an excellent pick for beauty fans looking for a more affordable lip oil.
Reviewing Aldi’s lip oil on TikTok, @heatherlabelle1 said: “It’s super shiny. It feels really nourishing and definitely a lot more luxe than the price point.” The shopper added: “My lips feel absolutely amazing.”
