Plenty have praised the ‘beautiful’ items that have arrived in stores this week – but won’t be around for long

Aldi is on hand to help with a ‘stunning’ £10 garden item as Brits start to think about sprucing up their outdoor spaces for spring. Many have praised this affordable decoration as one that “brightens up the garden beautifully”.

The supermarket has brought many new items to the SpecialBuy aisle just in time for the UK’s first ‘mini heatwave’ in 2025. With summer soon approaching, people will be thinking of what they can do to freshen up their gardens—and flowers make an obvious choice.

But if you aren’t a fan of all the care that comes with maintaining a garden full of plants, there’s a way to enjoy a low-effort kind of ‘flower’ that has a second use once the sun goes down. Many shoppers were thrilled to see the latest Stake Light Range, which cost £9.99 each.

Showcased on the Dansway Facebook page, the “beautiful” solar lights resemble delicate flowers like foxgloves, bluebells, and snowdrops. Each light has two “flowers” on a green stem.

Shoppers had plenty of positive reactions to seeing the lights in person. One said: “These would be gorgeous on either side of a garden path.”

Another added: “They look lovely. Luckily I bought them in the sale last year. Packed them away over winter months and all still going strong now!”

A third wrote: “OMG I want them all!” Someone else commented: “What a beautiful way to brighten up the garden.” A fifth person posted: “I’ll have to see about getting these. Such lovely looking flowers.”

On Aldi’s website, the supermarket says the Solar Glass Flower Stake is an “elegant painted glass flower light with robust metal construction.” It automatically illuminates at night, is “perfect” for borders, flowerbeds and pots and comes with a cool white LED bulb.

Shoppers can choose from Bluebell Stake Light, Snowdrop Stake Light or Foxglove Stake Light. Dimensions for each are as follows: Bluebell Stake Light: 62 x 19.5 x 5.6cm (approx.), Snowdrop Stake Light: 62 x 17 x 7cm (approx.), Foxglove Stake Light: 62 x 20 x 6cm (approx.)

These aren’t the only lights grabbing attention in the middle aisle. Aldi also put out its own version of the viral hot air balloon lights. The ‘magical’ £7 lights rival those of Home Bargains, Asda, and B&M, amongst other places.
