The supermarket expanded its collection after becoming very popular last year
People who shop at Aldi might be familiar with the traditional flowers sold every day, but a new option being spotted in stores offers flowers that will never need water or sunlight to stay looking as good as they did the day they were bought. Shoppers are racing to get their hands on the collection.
It comes as shoppers spot the return of the popular artificial flowers made from plastic bricks. These flowers will never wilt or die, and Aldi says they look great on display in homes year-round.
The selection was shared online by TikTok user Steven (@Brickswithabudget). In a post that has already been seen by more than 226,500 people, he wrote: “Aldi has brought back the block tech flowers, which are the alternatives to LEGO Botanicals.
“There is a wide range, and they also have a brick vase, which is very handy. I’m going to build that one first and start my arrangement.”
These Blocks in Bloom kits come at a fraction of the price of the more expensive Lego Botanical sets. For example, if shopping directly with Lego, a twin pack of red Roses costs £12.99, compared to £5.98 for two packs from Aldi – saving just over £7.
The sets are available with different pieces depending on the type of flower you choose. They range in the number of pieces, so you can select a model based on your time (or patience) levels.
Shoppers were quick to react to the returning products, which can be found in Aldi’s middle aisles or near the front of most supermarkets. One said: “I love that they’ve made a vase for them now!” Another wrote: “Tried to get some but mine had sold out already, so be quick if you want any!”
Someone else commented: “I love flowers, building these looks like it’d be fun!” And, one more shopper said: “Oh, looking forward to seeing what they’re like!”
What flowers are Aldi selling this year?
- Roses (Red, Dark Red, Light Pink, White)
- Tulip (Yellow)
- Lily (White)
- Paperbush (White)
- Carnation (Pink)
- Zinnia (Pink)
- Clover (Blue)
- Eustoma (Light Purple)
- Lavender
- Jasmine
There is also a white Flower Vase on offer this year, made from plastic bricks, available in stores for £2.99. However, in the past, people have used traditional glass vases to display their artificial flowers, adding a more realistic touch to a space.
People online, including Steven, claimed that builders could fit around five fully assembled flowers into each brick vase. In a follow-up video, the content creator claimed the vases are “a very simple build” that feels “really sturdy”.
