Aldi has announced the launch of the “world’s first lickable pigs in blankets wrapping paper” – and no, it’s not an April Fools’ joke posted far too early. The retailer knows that the mini sausages wrapped in bacon are a Christmas cult classic. I mean, who doesn’t love them? But now they’re taking it to the next level.
Its “latest innovation is bound to tantalise tastebuds” and Aldi UK have taken their inspiration from its Specially Selected Double Wrapped Pigs in Blankets. It describes: “It captures the smoky, savoury flavour and smell of the festive treat, with stickers that peel back to reveal a truly unique, lickable experience.
“The novelty wrapping paper not only tastes and smells like delicious Pigs in Blankets, it also looks charming on presents with its pastel pink design, festive holly and snowflake patterns.”
How to get the lickable wrapping paper
A roll of limited-edition wrapping paper can be claimed from November 24 via an exclusive shopper competition. To enter, entrants simply need to email wrappingpaper@aldi.co.uk with their full name.

Aldi stores opening before Christmas – full list
In more good festive news, it has been confirmed that Aldi will open 16 new stores by December 12. Each new location will generate approximately 40 jobs, with Aldi also announcing a doubling of its investment. The retailer has pledged a staggering £1.6 billion over the next two years, with the aim of opening 40 stores annually.
