Aldi are giving chocolate-loving fans the chance to win a free supply of chocolate ahead of Easter under one condition – and it means you could inspire next year’s range of eggs
Easter is the one time of year you can eat chocolate for breakfast and not feel guilty about it. And this year, Aldi are giving people the chance to eat as much free chocolate as they want ahead of the Easter holidays. The bargain supermarket is on the lookout for an enthusiastic chocolate fanatic to take on this year’s Chief Easter Egg Tasting Officer role.
The lucky winner will definitely need to have a sweet tooth; they will be given a whole host of Aldi’s 2025 Easter chocolate to sample at home for free, in exchange for exclusive reviews of the products. For those who reckon they have the best chocolate-tasting palate, they will need to give their thoughts on taste, texture, and appearance, which will help influence the 2026 Easter Egg range.

There is just one criteria to the cracking role – the applicants must have a huge love for chocolate and also be enthusiastic about Easter. Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “At Aldi, our customers are at the heart of everything we do.
“The Chief Easter Egg Tasting Officer plays a vital role in ensuring our Easter range reflects shoppers’ preferences, while also offering great value. Each of our Tasting Officers have shared valuable feedback on our Easter range and we look forward to hearing their thoughts!”

To apply, candidates will need a camera (a smart phone will do) to create a short audition video (approximately one minute long) and share it via the entry email address ChiefEasterEggOfficer@aldi.co.uk, explaining why they should be chosen for the world’s sweetest job. Entrants should include examples of their favourite Aldi chocolate, as well as any sweet tips and tricks that may help them stand out from other applicants.
Further details and terms and conditions can be found on the Chief Easter Egg Tasting Officer web page. Those looking to apply for the job of a lifetime will need to enter their videos by the deadline of 3 April. The lucky applicant will receive their festive products to sample between 7-14 April.

It comes after last year’s winner, five-year-old Levi from Cheshire, raved about last year’s Danny The Dino Egg and Toy and scored it a whopping 34/40. As a direct result of his feedback, Aldi’s Buying Team decided to expand its popular Dairyfine Chocolate Pets (£3.99, 150g) range this Easter.
The line-up now includes a new Mabel the Tabby Cat character with puzzles, games and stickers of both Charlie the Labrador and Honey the Golden Retriever, showing how seriously they take their Tasting Officer’s opinions.
Aldi will be matching each valid entry with an Easter Egg donation to charity partner and community giving platform, Neighbourly, who will deliver the surplus Easter products to those in need.
Steve Butterworth, Neighbourly CEO, said: “With many local charities facing increased demand and lower donations, any extra support they can get during the key calendar moments is always greatly appreciated.
“By donating these Easter Eggs, Aldi is helping to bring some joy to families this Easter and we’re proud to be working in partnership to ensure the donations reach the people who will benefit.”
