The budget supermarket is launching a new ‘winter warmer’ range this weekend
Aldi has announced it is updating its SpecialBuy middle aisle this weekend to welcome a brand new range of ‘winter warmer’ essentials. Some products will even save Aldi shoppers money on similar versions available at retailers like Dunelm, Lakeland, and The White Company, which are more expensive.
The new ‘winter warmer’ collection will be arriving in stores nationwide on Sunday, January 11. The timing will be ideal for millions as the country faces bitterly cold weather conditions and plunging temperatures.
The Met Office has issued a rare red weather warning for south-west England this afternoon, January 8, as Storm Goretti brings 80-100mph winds towards the country. There are also multiple yellow and amber snow and ice warnings in place for other parts of the UK.
Plus, as Ofgem’s price cap increased slightly at the start of the month, thousands of people will be looking for ways to stay warm indoors without needing to spend more than they need to on central heating and energy bills. Aldi’s new range could help many tackle cold feet, condensation, and damp laundry.
“As temperatures drop Aldi’s winter warmer collection has everything needed to keep cosy,” a spokesperson for Aldi said. “From the returning Foot Warmer Hot Water Bottle (£5.99) to the Winged Heated Airer (£34.99) and much more. The range offers everything Brits need to stay cosy for less. Set to be another sell out line up.
“That’s not all, with a price difference of up to 87% compared to The White Company – shoppers needn’t worry about January blues with prices this good. But warmth seekers better be quick because, as with all Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone.”
From January 11, shoppers can buy Aldi’s Foot Warmer Hot Water Bottle for £5.99, which is designed to help with cold feet. It has a plush finish and is available in cream or chocolate brown. It also offers ‘wearable warmth’ with two feet pockets and 1.7L capacity.
For a full body option, there is Aldi’s Long Hot Water Bottle for £5.99, which allows shoppers to ‘stay cosy from top to toe’ thanks to the extra long design and 2L capacity. “Better yet, shoppers can save up to 87% compared to similar products from The White Company”, the spokesperson added.
The White Company sells a Super Soft Faux Fur Long Hot Water Bottle for £45. Opting for Aldi’s version means customers can save £39.01.
For an extra layer of warmth, Aldi’s new Ladies’ Lounge Cardigan for £9.99 includes a hood, deep pockets, and a wrap-around design. It is available in navy or cream, and sizes small to large. Shoppers could pair it with the Ladies’ Fleece Lined Leggings (£5.99), sizes 8/10-16/18, available in grey or black.
Shoppers can also snuggle up in front of the TV on cold winter nights with the supermarket’s Heated Blanket for £29.99. With four levels of built-in warmth, a digital hand controller and LED display for ‘easy temperature adjustments’, it’s even machine-washable at 30°C for ease.
Elsewhere, Aldi says its machine-washable Luxury Soft Throw for £12.99 is a ‘stylish addition to any living room or bedroom’. It is available in a choice of four colours and features an ‘on-trend’ corduroy texture on the front, and a plain reverse.
To avoid getting into a cold bed ever again, Aldi is also selling a Heated Mattress Pad, available in double for £19.99 and king for £22.99. Each pad includes two different heating zones, three temperature settings per zone and a detachable remote controller to ‘easily’ adjust the temperature. Machine washable, it includes four elastic ties for fixing to the bed.
Aldi’s best-selling winter warmers range also sees the return of its heated airers. The Winged Heated Airer for £34.99 offers a large drying surface area, foldable wings, a 1.4m cable – and Aldi says it is half the price compared to Lakeland’s £69.99 Dry:Soon Winged Heated Clothes Airer.
For shoppers who prefer a tiered option, there is the Upright Heated Airer, available for £69.99. It is a foldable and compact ‘solution’ with mesh shelves and a peg hanger for smaller items.
Savvy shoppers can enjoy a saving of over £55 compared to Dunelm’s similar £125 Extra Large 3 Tier Square Heated Airer. “Both airers are perfect for drying clothes, sheets and towels quickly and efficiently during the winter months, each coming equipped with a cover to keep the warmth in”, the spokesperson said.
For ‘speedy’ drying and to manage moisture in the air during colder months, shoppers also can get the Midi Dehumidifier for £89.99. Designed to help manage condensation, damp and mould, it can remove up to ’12 litres of water a day’ and has a 2L tank, adjustable humidity settings, a 24-hour timer and a ‘quiet operating mode’. The unit also comes with wheels, a touch-screen display and a drainage hose for continuous use.
