Shoppers suffering with getting to sleep at night have said the LUMI light helps them drift off peacefully

People often turn to YouTube or Spotify for white noise playlists before nodding off. White noise is an effective method used to clear the mind and relieve feelings of anxiety.

This method is worth trying if you struggle to drift off at night. But if you don’t fancy being interrupted by YouTube ads or want to avoid screen time before bed, investing in a white noise machine is a great alternative.

Over on Yimbly, (which is owned by the Mirror’s parent company Reach) there’s an affordable LUMI White Noise Machine offered for £29.99. The small best-selling device sits perfectly on nightstands of any size and also comes with rave reviews.

The LUMI light has 24 soothing sound options, helping adults, children and babies to fall asleep quicker. It also has a night light with seven different colours and five brightness levels.

In the reviews, a pleased buyer said: “I love this device. It has helped a lot with severe tinnitus. It acts as a barrier. On my first night using it, I had a fantastic sleep. I highly recommend it.”

A second bought the device for their baby, writing: “Brilliant product, lots of different sounds and colours, looks modern and is perfect for a baby. Although there are a few buttons it is very easy to use. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone and no doubt it will help me fall asleep too!”

A third buyer likes it but warns of difficulty charging the device, saying: “Love this product. I use it for myself and my dog falls asleep dreamily to it too. The only issue I have is with charging. It takes time to charge fully to be able to use it again.”

A fourth commented: “Being an autistic adult, I have trouble with getting to sleep, winding down, anxiety, as well as other things. I thought I’d give this a try as it has a range of calming noises as well as soft lights.

“Mostly got it for white noise as I’ve always found listening to that is calming to me. I am glad I did, and I am finding it is helping me relax when things either get too overwhelming or I am struggling to sleep. It still takes me some time to get to sleep, but using this is helping.”

There are alternative white noise night lights on the market including this Dreamegg, £39.99 on Amazon. The device uses a combination of a noise machine, a night light, and a sleep soother to help you drift off.
