Three puppies will get the Christmas they deserve after being dumped in a carrier bag and left for dead – as they’re all finally on their way to loving new homes

Three adorable dogs who were cruelly dumped inside a carrier bag are set to spend Christmas in new loving homes. Crossbreeds Polar, Puffin and Pearl were taken in by Jerry Green Dog Rescue in South Lincolnshire after being thrown away in a plastic shopping bag.

At around eight-weeks-old, the three dogs would have likely died outside in the cold if they hadn’t have been discovered sooner. But thankfully, they have all now secured new homes for Christmas after a successful rehoming appeal by the centre.

Describing the pups, Jerry Greens, who often share heart-warning appeals on Instagram, said: “Puffin is a lovable pup with a striking blue collar and a big personality to match. At nearly eight-weeks-old, Puffin is the largest of his litter and ready to find a home where he can grow into the gentle giant he’s destined to be.

“Polar is an adorable pup with his signature yellow collar and a heart full of love to share. Pearl is an adorable little pup with a soft pink collar and an even softer heart.” The puppies bread remains a mystery as they abandoned with no clues about their parents.

Their rehoming appeal adds: “Based on their appearance, they could be a mix of Malamute, Akita, Samoyed, or another wonderful breed—or maybe, just maybe, they’ve got a little polar bear in them! (Okay, probably not, but wouldn’t that be fun?) A DNA test could reveal his fascinating lineage.”

The pups have been bottle-fed since arriving at the rescue centre – but are said to be making a wonderful recovery from their tough start in life. Jerry Greens currently has 21 dogs available on their website all searching for loving homes ahead of Christmas.

The centre has been rehoming dogs for more than 60 years – and now have three operating centres in North Lincolnshire, South Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, as well as a hub of community support initiatives coordinated from East Yorkshire.

Their mission statement reads: “You’ve probably already realised that our founder, Jerry Green, means a lot to us. He does, but perhaps the biggest credit should go to Rusty, the spaniel we celebrate in our logo, a faithful and loving companion to Jerry Green.

“In 1961, Rusty’s passing inspired his owner to set up a charity to rescue and rehome stray and unwanted dogs, with the aim of revolutionising the quality of life provided to all rescue dogs. Jerry Green believed that far too many dogs were being put to sleep unnecessarily.

“This belief has driven the charity’s activities since the creation of its first rescue centre in Broughton, North Lincolnshire, still in operation today. Jerry Green was passionate about sharing the good practices he established, in order to influence other animal welfare charities. He campaigned and educated to promote the humane treatment of all dogs.”

Commenting on a live rehoming appeal for American bulldog cross Stanley, who is a “a big goofball who loves to play and run around”, one Facebook user said: “I’m sure you’ll find your new home very soon Stanley. You’re gorgeous.” Another user added: “Awww Stanley your time will come your sister Lily is keeping her paws crossed for you.”
