Adam Peaty is set to marry Holly Ramsay at Bath Abbey on Saturday, but a number of the Olympic swimmer’s family members will not be present at the ceremony – including his mother and father
Adam Peaty’s father is said to be “so hurt” and “fuming” after he was reportedly told he could attend the service for his son’s wedding with Holly Ramsay, but not the reception. The Olympic swimmer and daughter of Gordon Ramsay are set to wed at Bath Abbey on Saturday.
And while Holly’s wider family are expected to attend the event, it appears as though the Peaty clan will be light in numbers at the wedding. While Peaty’s sister, Bethany, is due to be a bridesmaid for Holly, his mother, Caroline, and his father, Mark, will not be among the guests.
Speaking to the Daily Mail about the wedding, Caroline claims that she is incredibly “hurt” about how she has been treated by her son and his soon-to-be wife. She said: “I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out.

“This is the first Christmas that I’ve not had my family together – my family is broken. Yes, I have my other grandchildren. Yes, I have my other children, but my family is split because of the goings on…because of the wedding.”
Elsewhere, she explained that Adam’s father is also irate at how things have panned out, claiming that he will snub his invite to the ceremony. She added: “Mark’s fuming. He is so hurt,” before continuing: “Mark has said that he doesn’t want me crying all day.”
The frosty feud between Peaty and his family is said to have initially started at his engagement party last year. The two announced their engagement in the September, holding a celebration soon after where a number of Adam’s family members were not in attendance.
A source told The Sun Adam’s family were at the engagement party, when relations were much better. Things went downhill from there.
“His mum was unhappy some of the family weren’t there and confronted Gordon at the event. Guests were made to sign non-disclosure agreements and hand in phones as the party was filmed.”
Peaty in turn shared a statement about the feud last month, explaining: “For those who know me personally, you know that I work so hard on trying to improve myself as a person who wants to contribute to making the world a better place.
“I am continuing to learn about myself and how I can be the man I want to be; a worthy partner, father, businessman, friend and athlete; even through these challenging times. Bethany, Holly and I will get through this – we do not ask for sympathy.
“We just need people to be aware that there are always two sides to every story. To those of you who have reached out and shown kindness and understanding – thank you. It is deeply appreciated.”
In a showing of solidarity, Holly also shared the post on social media with her 400,000 followers. The fallout also erupted the same month, when Peaty’s aunt, Louise Williams, criticised Holly for failing to invite Adam’s mum to her hen do.
In the aftermath, Caroline spoke out and explained that she had been struggling. In a direct message to her son, she said: “I know it’s the end. But please, the message I want Adam to hear is no matter what happens in the future, please know I love you, your dad loves you, you can come home and talk to me at any point.
“There’s nothing you’ve done that I would not forgive. I love you so much. I hope your marriage is a good one, I don’t wish any ill on you and I want you and Holly to have a long and happy marriage. The reason I’m speaking out is I want all this to end.”
Elsewhere, Caroline also claimed that the Ramsay family were very “insular,” explaining: “He’s in Gordon’s clutches. I can’t help but feel like they are pulling him away from me.”
