Acer’s new laptop lineup is powered by the latest Snapdragon processors and packed with advanced AI features.

Acer has unveiled a new line of Windows laptops, said to be the ‘fastest’ ever, that ‘rival Apple’. The tech brand has just announced a new generation of its Swift lineup, the Swift Spin 14 AI.

Acer says its Swift laptops are the ‘fastest, most intelligent Windows PCs ever’, with this new addition powered by Snapdragon’s X2 Series processor. This is said to deliver blazing-fast performance and smooth AI support, rivalling Apple’s powerful Silicon chips.

As a Copilot+ PC, it’s also packed with a full suite of AI features and tools, while its versatile and portable design allows it to instantly transform from a laptop to a tablet. Ahead of the July launch, Acer is offering discounts ranging from £200 to £300 across its existing Swift laptop range, with the discounts depending on the chosen size and internal storage.

The biggest saving up for grabs is with the Acer Swift Go 16 AI, which drops from £1,299.99 to £999.99 – a £300 saving. This model boasts a slim and sleek ultra-light design with a fully extendable hinge allowing it to open to a flat 180°.

It’s powered by the powerful Intel Core Ultra processor (Series 2), which is said to deliver ‘seamless’, multi-tasking performance. It also offers vibrant 2K OLED resolution on its 16” screen with Eyesafe 2.0 technology to protect eyes from harmful blue light.

Acer is knocking £300 off its Swift Go 16 AI laptop.

This particular model boasts 1TB of internal storage and 32GB of memory, while Copilot+ provides a wealth of AI features ideal for personal or work usage. With this, the laptop can anticipate a user’s habits and offer intelligent suggestions for faster and more efficient working.

Acer says its Swift is ‘the most secure Windows PC’ ever, thanks to layers of hardware-based security designed to protect one’s data and privacy. The Acer Swift Go 16 AI also boasts an all-day battery life of 25.5 hours, with other key features including Bluetooth 5.4, DTS:X Ultra, HDMI 2.1, facial recognition and a fingerprint reader.

Elsewhere in the Acer sale, shoppers can save £200 on the other Swift Go models, such as the Acer Swift Go 14 AI at £1,199.99 (was £1,399.99). Alternatively, those who prefer Apple can pick up one of the latest models without a large initial payment at Sky Mobile, which offers the new 15” MacBook Air M5 for £28 when spreading the cost.

A caveat here is that shoppers must commit to a 48-month contract and pay £12 upfront to secure this price. Other budget-friendly options include the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus Gemini AI Laptop, reduced to 516.35 (was £559.19) at Amazon.

This lightweight and slim model is suited for everyday tasks while its 1080p Full HD display enhances streaming, photo editing and gaming. As for the Acer Swift Go 16 AI, the experts at PC Mag have tested this device for themselves and said it ‘packs a lot of great features for the price’.

They said: “The Swift Go isn’t exactly a budget machine, but it packs a lot of great features for the price, prime among them a dazzling OLED display. As usual with OLED, the inky blacks and dynamic colours jumped out, and the resolution was sharp enough, even at the 16-inch display size.

“The refresh rate, meanwhile, clocks in at a fast and smooth 120Hz. Simply put, the Swift Go 16 delivers an excellent display for all kinds of work, including creative tasks and media consumption.

“The Swift Go 16 also comes with up-to-date Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, and thanks to the Intel Killer wireless card, you’ll be able to take advantage of faster connectivity whenever the latest standard becomes more widespread. This Acer’s not perfect – for one thing, the battery life is subpar – but the price makes it an attractive option.

“If you’re in the market for an expansive display that’s easy to carry, the Swift Go 16 is worth considering.”
