An abandoned Pontins Holiday Park has been left to rot with eerie rides and colourful holiday flats now empty shells of their former selves.

Many once-bustling Pontins holiday parks have been abandoned across the UK since shutting in late 2023 and early 2024. The company had been rated as the worst holiday park chain in the UK by Which? in 2022.

Urban explorer Adventurous Hiker documented the abandoned holiday park in Southport, Merseyside. It shut its doors for good on January 3, 2024, after 54 years.

After entering into administration, Pontins was bought by the Britannia Hotel Group on January 28, 2011. The acquisition of the holiday park operator was for an estimated £20million.
