The latest swathe of branch closures will take place within the next four weeks

More bank customers will be facing the closure of their local branch in June as some of Britain’s biggest high street banks change the way they deliver their services. Financial giants Santander and NatWest announced earlier this year that they are shutting scores of branches with customers using more online banking services.

Santander has closed all those already scheduled for 2026 with 40 branches shutting their doors permanently. While it has four more planned closures these are yet to be given a firm day but all will take place by the end of January 2027.

In addition to NatWest, Lloyds Group is also closing dozens of branches of Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland branches across the UK. A total of 86 confirmed closures are scheduled to come across the four banks, with the next wave starting this week.

The first branches will shut their doors on Monday, June 1 with others to follow through the coming weeks. Most of the planned closures will be completed by the end of June. Here is the full list of closures and the dates they will shut their doors:
